As Akane packed away her cakes for the day, sneaking one last piece for herself, she wandered over to the replicator and treated herself to a hot chocolate. Taking a sip of the sweet, satisfying liquid, she took her seat again and brought up her notifications for the day as she liked to leave them until after her appointments to keep focused on her patients. In truth, she had barely looked at them since she came aboard. As she scrolled through she frowned, noticing she had two seriously overdue tasks. As she brought them up she gulped and hastily tapped her comm badge.

Nay sighed deeply as she led back in her chair and awaited reprimand. Since she had arrived on the Outpost, she had annoyed the Captain, failed to check in to the XO, not been for her mandatory physical and had a meltdown in front of a patient. It hadn’t exactly been the best first week in a new job…
