Posted by Lieutenant Commander Jessica Vaughn (XO) in OMAP Party: Evelyn’s Brewing House Grand Opening - Mathias and Evie “Alright people get moving, you have the lay out Evelyn wanted and Aedan said if we don’t do as she says no one is getting hired back for the OMAP expansion on OED V, so don’t dwaddle and get this place looking perfect!” Jessica Adams said, her fiery locks tied back as she barked orders out like some drill sergeant. The trick was, the workers obeyed her like she was, they all knew Aedan would bring his wrath upon them in the form of his favorite “executioner” which happened to be Ms Adams. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : As the peons moved and placed the decorations, the building itself seemed perfect as was, what the men where doing right now seemed to just prepare for the party itself. There was tables prepped for food, drinks, and everything else Evie was going to be making tonight to impress the outpost. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : =/\= Aedan, we should be ready in 45 minutes, all invites sent out as you requested. Estimations of nearly two hundred people may show, there is going to be a lot of overflow. I have a team, setting up outside for this.=/\= : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : =/\= Whatever would I do without you Ms Adams, keep me up to date, Jessica and I will be down shortly. =/\= Aedan said as he paused and turned his chair around from his desk in their bedroom. He could hear Jessica getting dressed in the background. “We need to be there in 60 mins, no later. I am not going to do favors to Evie again if you don’t show up.” Aedan shouted. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “You will,” Jessica walked out of the closet holding two dresses in her hand. “Green or blue,” Jessica asked Aedan putting one over her body and then the other switching back and forth as she talked. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Green.” Aedan said, barley seeing the fabric as he was intently gazing at his computer, numbers where in on some new shows OMAP just released and he seemed to be focused on them more than anything else. : : : : : : : : : : : : Jessica looked at the green dress in her hands and back at Aedan. He barely registered her presence or the dress. Were they already at the “yes dear” stage where the man mumbled a reply not actually hearing what the woman said. Jessica wasn’t sure if she liked the casual comfort of this or not. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Walking back into the closet Jessica kept talking. “You are scared of that elderly just like you were scared of Lucy and Ethel on our first date. Now you are in business with Evie over pride because that coffee shop is not going to make a quarter of what you put into it. I don’t care how cutthroat you think you are....Purple or Green,” Jessica asked coming out of the closet with another set of dresses to choose from. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Oh yes, I am scared of her, Green. My life quakes around her.” he said as he put the computer screen down. “You said it would be a good thing to be nice, so this is me being nice. Don’t make me regret it buttercup.” he said as he came over to her, smiling as she continued getting dressed. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Walking back into the closet she kept talking as she tried to get ready for the event. “You are not going to cut her out or let that business go under even if you take a quarterly loss for the next twenty years because you like her,” Jessica stuck only her head out of the door still talking to him. “I am not sure why. I mean everyone likes her but you seem to have some bizarre affection for her. Green or Black,” Jessica emerged from the closet for the third time with another set of dresses. Again she held them up looking for what was apparently a third opinion of what to wear. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Just green already, and for the last time I don’t like her or dislike her. She is just some lady who wanted help. Charity starts at home or some bullcrap like that right?” : : : : : : : : : : : : : Jessica cocked an eyebrow at him. “Aedan Teller don’t give me some false bravado about you not caring. You care. You are all about OMAP making money but I was doing some research yesterday,” she emerged from the closet in the tight green cocktail dress. It was not as revealing as some of the fashions she wore but it was a color Aedan loved. The Dark Kelly green mid thigh lengthed dress settled off her shoulders with just a hint of cleavage. She knew the hint would be enough to keep Aedan’s eye on her and make him eager to get back home as quickly as possible. So many women wore clothes that barely clad their bodies in the hopes of attracting a man. Jessica leaned long ago that most men rather enjoyed their imaginations run wild when looking at their dates than actually seeing all the goods. “I learned you just donated five hundred credits to the St. Gerard Majella Organization. You are not into religion of any form but you are into any hard luck case involving kids or animals. You used to be a billy bad boy but now you are just a boring,” she walked towards him working her hips like a runway model, “dull,” she wrapped her arms about his neck, “businessman,” she whispered the last word in his ear slowly. Pulling back she looked him in the eyes holding a moment between them. “Maybe I need to find a way to capture your attention. There was a time you were speechless when I walked into a room. Now…now I am just Teller’s old lady and that will not do Hero,” she said adjusting his tie. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt. Commander Jessica Vaughn, XO : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : *** : : : : : : : : : Meanwhile Jessica could see Evie coming out of the kitchen, she looked swamped but this was her dream, and Aedan had given a bigger kitchen staff then the Manchester United had players. She should have everything under control. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : ~Aedan Teller : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Miss Adams can you kindly tell me why I have a host of cooks in the kitchen that want to fight me on the best way to present a Rueben or grilled cheese. I mean who the heck puts pickles and barbeque sauce on a grilled cheese,” Evie grumbled. “I took care of it but,” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Because you are going to have over two hundred people today, don’t you think it’s wise to have as many people as you can helping?” she asked with a smirk as her eye watched one of the men spill over a potted plant. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “I am goin ta gah ta Aedan,” Patrick O’Flannery stormed out of the kitchen stopping in front of Evie before throwing his hat on the floor and glaring at Jessica. “An I’m tellin ‘im dat you are de banshee o’ de valley and I’ll never wahrk wit you ag’in you evil changelin malevahlent spirit.” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “That is good to know,” Evie said simply as if allowing a child to throw a temper tantrum over some trivial matter before she stepped in. “I will not look for you to come by for coffee then anytime soon.” : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “She Devil,” Flannery spat and stormed out of the Brewery presumably heading for Aedan’s penthouse. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Don’t slouch dear,” Evie smiled at Adams as soon as Patrick left with his drama llama in tow. “You have such amazing legs and need to show them off. Besides knowing Aedan he has invited everyone and anyone so maybe we can find you someone huh,” she smiled at the beautiful red-head standing in front of her before her smile faltered a bit. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Evie McGarrett, Civilian : : : : : : : : : : : : : : “Patrick!” Jessica Adams said as she looked over at the man. “You will get back to work and do as that woman says or I will shove my 8 inch heels up that puckered Irish arse of yours or so help me God.” she said, her eyes wide and furious as she looked at the man. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : ~Aedan Teller : : : : : : : : : : : : “You and I could become quite good friends dear. You have a singular way of motivating men,” Evie grinned. “It is as if you were married for the past twenty years and not single. I like your style.” Activating her comm, Evie contacted her wayward son who was ever punctual but appeared to be running uncharacteristically late. =/\= Mathais dear, you are late. I assume you are on your way,=/\= she said in that mother tone indicating she was not mad at him yet but was tettering on using his middle name if she had to contact him again. : : : : : : : : : : : : Evie McGarrett, Civilian : : : : : : : : : : The voice of her oldest came over the comm. =^= Thanks for letting me know, Mother. Sometimes I lose all track of time when I’m doing tasks of low importance that captains always seem to find themselves doing. =^= : : : : : : : : : : Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO : : : : : : : : =/\=Of course you do love. That is what I am here for. Now put down whatever silly report you are writing. You know no one ever reads them right? I mean who wants to hear of supply problems at the eastern blah blah blah colony or that a ship was under attack. I’ll expect you in fifteen minutes, =/\= Evie’s voice may have sounded like a question but it was more a statement. =/\=Oh and put some cologne on. There is someone I can’t wait for you to meet. =/\= : : : : : : : : Walking past her boss, Lily scanned the room. Her feet hurt already and it was only thirty minutes into the shift. If there wasn’t the possibility of some hot single men here, Lily would have passed this up. Well not really. Due to her current financial status, she needed the work. Evie’s place wasn’t horrible to work at and the elder McGarrett let you eat all you wanted when you were working. This cut down on Lily’s basic living expenses immensely. : : : : : : : : Lily glanced around the party. It was filled with eligible men for the night but Lily was looking more long term. Walking around with her drink tray she looked for someone to socialize with. In a corner, sipping what appeared to be coffee from a white mug and not a liquored beverage from her tray she spied a man. He was dark haired with a well-chiseled jawline and broad shoulders. He was definitely Lily’s type. Walking over to the science chief she set her tray of drinks on the table and then took a seat. “Some party huh,” she asked. “Were you invited or did you wander in,” Lily asked rubbing her foot which she had pulled from her heels. : : : : : : : : Evie McGarrett : : : : : : A short while later, Mathias made his way to his mother. Indeed he had arrived within the fifteen minutes she had requested. : : : : “Mathias my love,” Evie said embracing her son the second she saw him in the coffee house. “You look amazing but why are you not wearing that bottle of Pleasure I bought for you when I went to Risa. There is no regulation for smelling as nice as you look and chicks dig a guy that smells nice,” she informed her son as if it were an iron clad fact. “I mean you aren’t wearing any are you?” she leaned forward and inhaled deeply giving him a disapproving stare when she realized the only scent on his body was that of soap. Not wanting to pick a fight, Evie moved on for the moment. “So what do you think of your ol’ mom now,” she linked her arm in his and began to walk him in a specific direction. : : : : :No hint of cologne could be detected on him, however. “Hey, Mom. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I think this really turned out. I do have one question for you though.” : : : : : : Keeping a perfectly straight face he asked her, “So is Duncan Rhodes going to give the wait staff foot massages every night in the dining area? If so I may need to make sure he gets a little extra help overseeing the Science Department.” : : : : : : Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO : : : : “No you need to take some lessons from the sexy scientist with the great accent,” she deftly changed the subject. “I mean he seems to be able to make the women swoon whether they are upper-class ladies or an honest working girl. You could so give him a run for his money if you just smiled more,” Evie complimented her son. “You have a great smile and sense of humor. All women like a man with a good sense of humor. If you like however, I can see if I can swap Duncan out for her left for you,” she teased. : : : : Evie McGarrett : : “Thanks for the offer, Mother, but it looks like she’s in good hands. Er, well, at least her feet are.” After letting out a chuckle Mathias continued, “I’m glad you appreciate my sense of humor, even if some other people might not. I’ll pass on taking Duncan’s place. I’d rather keep my hands clean anyhow so I can eat something with them. Should I find an open table?” : : “You did put at least one or two of my favorites from back home in the jungle on your menu, didn’t you?” he asked, sounding more like a son and less like a Starfleet captain. : : Captain Mathias McGarrett, CO “Even better,” Evie could barely contain her glee leading Mathias to a table. Before letting him sit she faced him towards a wall covered with a muslin tarp. “I put my favorites on the wall,” she beamed pulling the cloth down revealing a wall full of photos; however most prominently and the largest was one of a Mathias McGarrett squarely in the middle. “I always thought you looked so good there,” Evie sighed looking up at the picture of Mathias on his graduation day from the Academy. It was not one of the dozens of professional ones the Academy took but one Evie snapped. Mathias had a far-off look in his eyes as if dreaming about his future with his face tilted up towards the sky. Mathias put his head down and rubbed his forehead in his hand before saying anything to his mother. “You know, you could have picked the one I gave you for Christmas last year instead.” “Good God is that life-sized,” Lilly paused behind them with a tray seeing the large 18”x24” print. Life-sized? thought Mathias as he turned and raised his eyebrows at whoever had made the comment. “No. It is roughly four sheets of paper. The 24” x 36” was not able to be delivered on time,” Evie said walking up to it and straightening it some. “Why does he look like he is posing for a recruitment photo,” Lily asked. Obviously, the shot was taken when Mathias was unaware. Lily could not stop wondering what was on his mind though when it was snapped. Maybe it was dreams of running away as fast as he could from Mama McGarrett. Evie was nice but could be a bit overpowering. Mathias simply shrugged. “I don’t know. I wasn’t looking when she took it. Maybe that’s how mothers are, preferring their own photos to the professionally taken ones. Or maybe just mine. I never can tell.” “Wow, she is your mother,” Lilly asked softly next to Mathias? “Good look finding a date super stud,” she laughed patting him on the back and walking away with her tray full of food yet not offering Mathias any. Evie McGarrettHe gave her a questioning glance before turning to his mother. “I wonder what she meant by that?” he asked her, acting as if he were seriously wondering the answer to his question.

“Who knows,” Evie initially waved off the comment but then looked at her son with a bit more interest. “Unless you would like me to bring her back? I mean she does seem sweet if not a bit distracted but we can get some meds for that right,” Evie began to scan the crowd in case Mathias wanted his mom to do her magic.

Mathias nodded slowly and thoughtfully, and then replied. “You know, maybe that’s been my problem all along. I’ve probably been dismissing potential mates just because they seem to have serious chemical inbalances in their brains. But with technology these days, that shouldn’t really be that big of an obsticle. Still, I think I’ll pass on having her sent back. I’m just not in the mood to touch anyone’s feet while I’m eating tonight.”
