The mental evaluation, dreaded by most, enjoyed by some, endured by all, was not one that it was smart to let be one of those things. Wade straightened his uniform, glad to be able to be wearing it again, even if it was uncomfortable, bright red, and felt like a target on his back. It was good to be a real person again. His assets unfrozen, his access reinstated, all as it was before, and now he was more on guard, it would be harder to plant this type of evidence against him a second time. Wade had learned a valuable lesson while he was burned, there were very few people to trust in this life. Shaking his head Wade reached out and pressed the chime to make it known that he wanted to see the Counselor, and then he could really get about being back to work, and who he used to be. Commander Wade King, Strategic Operations Officer“Come.”Came the deep, sultry low alto voice from within. When the doors opened he saw Chandel sitting on the end of the couch, a few padds strewn around her and on the table in front of her. The seating area was a few steps down from her desk area. The colors of the room were not the typical Starfleet office but was all done in autumnal colors with a deep plush carpet.
Upon seeing him Chandel keyed off the padd she held and quickly picked up the others and set them all away on the side table then she rose easily.
“Come in, Commander.” She said inviting him to enter.Counselor Chandel
At the call to enter the Counselor’s office, Wade did so. He perused the room, while it was with a calculating eye, it was mostly a casual looking accomplishment. Spotting Chandel, Wade flashed a smile and nodded. Wade entered he was a tallish gentlemen with dimpled smile, brown hair, and black eyes that marked him as the Empathic species Betazoid. He had read up on the Counselor’s bio on the Shuttle ride, but still did not know much about the woman, there was little to glean, she seemed to keep her nose clean. Though that she was a former Marine was interesting to him, that was not an often made switch from Marines to Counseling, as well as a linguist, and communications expert, all useful skills.
“Well met Counselor, Commander Wade King, I am taking over as the Strategic Operations Officer, on the Outpost.” Wade said moving his cup to his other hand, and offering to shake hands, “Please call me Wade” First names just made things easier, at least in Wades opinion. “Your choice in decor?” Wade asked with a smile, implying a compliment with his tone.

Chandel smiled in welcome as she shook his hand.”Indeed, Wade. I find a more relaxed atmosphere conducive to lowering barriers and making people more comfortable. “Please, have a seat.”She said graciously as she retook her own seat and waited patiently for he to retake his. “You may call me, Chandel if you wish as well.”
Counselor Chandel
Wade smiled and nodded. Then moved over to a chair to get settled in. “Very Well Chandel it is” Once he was settled he found a convenient place to set both the cup and PaDD. then retrieved the cup and took a sip from its contents. The coffee was his lifeblood sometimes he thought. It was definitely better for him than the alcohol that was often the choice of his compatriots. It was simple enough to sit through his mental evaluation. Too many got defensive or evasive with the counselor at these things. Over the years Wade had always discovered it was easier to be cooperative instead of stubborn at these things. You had to do it, so why make it worse. Besides Wade understood his level of crazy, and had grown comfortable with it.

Chandel watched quietly as the Commander settled himself, his coffee and his padd. She waited a moment longer as she noted how calm he was. He seemed perfectly at ease here and not discomfited at all as most people would in a Counselor’s office. It was almost as if he could make himself at home anywhere, a very effective Command strategy she thought to herself.
“So, Commander, can I ask what has led you to be here at the station? I get the sense that you are a man of more action than what is usually seen on a station.”Counselor Chandel
Wade smiled and nodded, and then shrugged, “I go where BuPer assigns, but I was happy to be assigned a new station, even if it was less action. I have had a chaotic last few years, and not entirely in Star Fleets good graces the entire time I must admit. So being allowed to reenter the house instead of being relegated to the dog run was an upgrade.”

“Indeed, I can see how it would be. Can I ask what happened?” Chandel asked curiously.
Counselor Chandel
Wade smiled, and shrugged, “Well simple version I got played. Someone wanted me out of official capacity and made the move to make that happen. I was scapegoated for an unsanctioned Operation that I should have known about, and it cost me. I spent 3 years on OED V, doing odd jobs,” the last bit he air quoted to indicate he was being a little facetious, “while I worked to clear my name.”
