Despite the fact that the sensors in engineering were reading a flux in gravity in this area, there were no signs of any anomalies. The shops were open, the midday crowds were bustling as usual. A little girl ran through the crowd, glancing worriedly around as if she was trying to locate someone. Pausing in front of a certain cafe, her eyes lit up in recognition, although she looked like she was hesitant to enter.

Epello meadered the corridors of the deck, continuously scanning the area for any signs of what might have given off the peculiar readings. Furrowing her eyebrows, she stopped, turning her head to seemingly glance about. Carrying on her way, she nearly ran into the little girl, sensing her before her clumsiness gave her the chance to. “Oh! My bad,” She smiled down at her.

“It’s okay miss. Grandma always tells me that I should be more careful of where I run off to.” The little girl looked up at Epello with wide eyes, “Wait… are you a Starfleet officer?”

“And right she is about that,” Epello nodded, offering what she could of a small smile. “Yes, I am. One of the operations officers, if you’ve heard of us.”

“My mom says that you guys are veeeeerry important.” The girl drew out her the word in an attempt to make it sound more important, and pouted when she finished. “Mom is also a very important person too, but she didn’t have time to play with me today because of that. Luckily I can always visit grandma!”
