“Hmm,” Ria pursed her lips and looked at NE Obvious for a few long moments. “I still think your hair wants cutting, but if you’d rather not. So be it.” Turning her gaze towards Solal she continued without missing a beat, “You never told me, why is a raven like a writing-desk?”
~Iyun, the Mad Hatter
A quick, silent irritated sigh escaped Solal. “I do not know the answer to your riddle.” He said, looking at Ria. Thinking about how to play along, he asked, “Would you like to tell me?” He said. He did not even really have a guess, otherwise he would give it, if only to get her to stop talking about ravens and desks. By now, he had realized that whatever had gotten into them, there was no talking reason into them. Though he was quite glad there was to be no cutting of Obvious’ hair.

The door to the science lab, and Duvosa entered, taking a look around and scanning the room. Her face was covered in several small scratches and blood appeared to be slowly trickling down her skin.
“Someone called security?” She asked, looking curiously at the group assembled.
-Lt jg Duvosa, Sec
Obvious pointed out Iyun and Petrakos, “Yes, Lieutenant. I am afraid those two… and well the rest of science has gone quite mad! Though what I expect you to do I am not quite sure.”
He looked around, “Please tell me you aren’t… painting roses or something.”
GM Wombat
“Why would I paint the roses?” Duvosa asked curiously.
Solal stood as soon as Duvosa entered, dropping his tea. “Yes, Lieutenant. These two appear to be acting incredibly unusually, though why I am not sure. I believe Obvious and I would appreciate your help…”
~ Solal, Doctor
Achilleas slapped a hand onto the table which clanged some plates and spilled some tea. “Unusual? Unusual?!?” He smacked the table again for good measure. “Why, is it truly unusual to have a party with tea and cake? Is it unusual to want to look dapper and refined in a hat? Is it so unusual to do an Happy Unbirthday song?!? Nay, I say nay! The one’s unusual here are you! You who have no propriety or grace at a social event! You who crash a party and don’t follow the rules! So I kindly ask those you who cannot abide by the rules to leave, before I’m forced to make you leave.” With this declarative put down, Achilleas pulled himself standing though clearly his weight was only on one leg. He definitely didn’t look like he could force anyone to do anything at the moment.
Petrakos, the March Hare
Duvosa looked at Achilleas and raised her eyebrow. She turned towards Solal, “This appears to be a party. What is so unusual about that?”
-Duvosa, a Guard Card
Solal looked up at his hat. “It is a party, Lietuenant. But it is… well, an unusual one. I do not find the behavior of my crewmates to be normal. You must admit, Starfleet officers do not usually do such things as this - outside of the Holodeck, of course.”
~ Solal, Doctor
Achilleas continued to unstably stand while leaning against the table. “Would the holodeck have such a fine selection of pastries and handcrafted tea? Would the holodeck have… er, well I guess it could have wonderful hats available on command. Hmm…” He pondered with a hand to his chin. “No matter! The party mood struck us here and so here the party commenced! I really must insist that you either join us or leave the premises. I’ll still see you out myself if I need to!”
Petrakos, the March Hare
“Well if I’m here....” Duvosa said, smiling at Solal. “It certainly can’t hurt to have a nice cup of tea.” She looped her arm around Solal’s. “Come and join me. It will be lovely.”
-Duvosa, a Card Guard
Ria seemed a little confused as if she had lost track of the conversation for a moment. Grabbing what looked like a very flat top hat, she walked over to Duvosa. With a flick of her wrist, she tapped to chapeau claque against the inside of her other forearm and with a soft popping sound it expanded and looked like a proper top hat. “You need to wear a hat,” she said simply as she pushed the hand in the security officer’s hands. She then looked at Solal and asked, “Why would I know what ravens and writing desks are similar? What an odd question to ask.” Shaking her head, she sat back down and reached for another scone.
~Iyun, the Mad Hatter
Since it seemed the party wasn’t going to be disrupted, Achilleas likewise sat back down albeit unstably. With a grand sweep of the hand to showcase all of the goodies on the table, he exclaimed to Duvosa, “We have scones, sandwiches, carrot cake, unbirthday cake, and of course my patented tea! Please partake and be merry. I especially recommend the carrot cake with the tea.” He said as he grabbed another slice of carrot cake for himself.
Petrakos, the March Hare
Solal took his seat once more as Petrakos did, catching on that Duvosa had also become intoxicated… or whatever it was. He figured he should probably get back to the Sickbay… but then, shouldn’t somebody keep an eye on these three wackadoodles? What would they do if nobody in their right mind was here? Probably nothing he couldn’t stop them from doing, anyway. Not on his own…
~ Solal, Doctor
Duvosa paused for a moment, taking a seat next to Solal. Something inside her knew that she should be marching, guarding. But the tea and cakes looked so delicious.
Reaching out and plucking one of the scones off a tray, Duvosa stared at it briefly and then gingerly took a small nibble. The taste was heavenly, and she took another more sizable bite.
Giving Solal another smile, Duvosa pointed in the direction of the large teapot on the table. “Would you mind passing the tea?” She asked, taking another nibble of the scone, mindlessly reaching out and taking a slice of cake and putting it in front of her.
