Arthur stalked through the ship to the CO’s ready room. He was nervous, that would be fairly obvious from looking at him, if one could read the look in his eyes.

True to his upbringing, he never let it show on his face, appearing as stoic as any Klingon warrior could in this kind of situation. He tugged the hem of his uniform down before jabbing the chime.

Willow looked up from her desk and the letter she was trying to write. Two hours and all she had managed was “Dear Doug.” A sigh escaped her and she closed the tab and rubbing her eyes looked at the door, she seemed to be spending a lot of time in her ready room these days.

“Yes?” She blurted then automatically corrected. “Come in!”

Arthur stepped into the room, coming to attention. He was always confused on how to introduce himself, considering he had stopped using his surname years ago after he became a Klingon. Of course Starfleet was a stickler for regulations, so with an inward sigh, he spoke.

“Ensign Jones reporting in.”

Willow raised her eyebrows. “At ease ensign.” She said and waved her hand to the chairs in front of her desk. “Welcome to the Ogawa.” She held her hand out for his transfer orders.

Arthur took a seat and handed over his transfer orders. He held himself very much like a proud Klingon warrior, except his eyes gave away how nervous he was. That was the one flaw he viewed from his human heritage, one could read his emotions and intent in his eyes.

Willow considered him a moment as if trying to decide what she was seeing. “Welcome to the Ogawa Ensign. Is this your first assignment to a medical ship?”

“Its my first assignment in general.” Arthur said, nodding, “I was told that this assignment would be very interesting from a security standpoint, and I’m all for interesting.” Arthur said, studying her.

Willow smiled ruefully. “It is an interesting assignment that much is true.” Standing she moved to the replicator. “Can I offer you a drink?” She asked.

“Does that thing do decent Bloodwine?” Arthur joked, knowing he couldn’t drink on duty. “Water’s fine.”

Willow procured the water and taking it over set it in front of him. “ Have you managed to do your check ins and report for duty with your department head yet?” She asked.

“Not yet. I’ve only just arrived.” Arthur said, nodding, “you’ve got a beautiful ship.”
