Starbase 157- Gym
Posted by Commander Dira Myqian (Executive Officer) in Starbase 157- Gym
A couple days after that unexpectedly wonderful first meeting with Zoi, Dira finally managed to get away from her desk for a workout. Overall she was grateful for the generally positive meetings with the rest of the senior staff and she was feeling more at ease with the odd situation the Ogawa crew found themselves in. But in making sure that the crew was doing okay, she herself (and her own needs) had slipped by the wayside. At least she was aware of it though! With the intent to remedy this error, Myqian stepped into the gym. While she could do a lot of the core and stretching exercises in her quarters, she, one, wanted a change of surroundings, and two, wanted to make use of the equipment. Okay, if she were being really honest, she had also dropped by in the hopes that Zoi might be here. She could have checked the other woman’s whereabouts, but there was something so much better about letting any interactions happen naturally.
For the last day and a half, Dira had been struggling with the strange burst of feelings that had appeared that night at the Boiler Room Cafe. Zoi’s tentative, and then more solid, touch was vivid in her mind and she couldn’t deny that the connection between them was strong. But… she knew herself too well. She was happy to have a fling, and simply go where mutual attraction led, but something about her interaction with Zoi made it clear that this was something more than that. She had it no more figured out today, but Dira was also the consummate professional. She wasn’t going to do anything to jeopardize either of their careers.
And yet, here she was wondering if their paths would cross. Adjusting the multicoloured floral fabric headband that was holding back her mass of tight curls, Dira moved into the gym, adopting a nonchalant air. Burnt orange bottoms in a light weight and breathable material moved slightly, restricted only by the elastic at her waist and ankles. A supportive cropped top in black left her midriff and parts of her back bare.
Commander Myqian, XO
Zoi too had thoughts occupied over the last few days with her dinner with the XO. What had started as a professional meeting, turned into a social meeting, the unexpected results of which left both women simultaneously giddy and contemplative.
Zoi had spent the better part of her off shift hours thinking about the professional and personal situations that arose from her attraction to their new XO. Dirt was beautiful and hit buttons that had not been much alive for the last 30 years. The added complication of her mothers mental health had kept her from forming attachments to those who might have been interested many times. Now that she was determined to live her life for herself, she was reconciling how Dira might fit into that picture in a way she had hardly trusted herself to dream of.
Today was a scheduled cargo day for her at the gym facilities on the Starbase. She stood at the console for the fully holo-engaging treadmill. It provided scenery as one would find in the holodeck, moving as the runners did to provide nonstationary scenery. There were 2 in the gym. Both could hold up to 4 people. Meanwhile, she was holding her foot behind her, stretching the front of her right thigh.
As expected, the Chief of Security for the Ogawa was in very good shape. She wore plain dark blue workout pants fitted to her like a glove from hip to ankle. Its fast wicking fabric would keep sweat from causing friction on her skin as she ran. Her top was a brighter color blue but just as fitted, cropped so that her six pack and her muscled arms were both visible. Her hair was French braided and the tail wrapped in a secure looking bun.
She idly perused the options available for scenery as she heard someone enter the gym. With just as little thought, she looked up and did a double take. Dira was in here. Zoi had to catch herself from staring. She let down her foot and grabbed the other to stretch behind her. She cleared her throat and told herself now was not the time to fall on one’s face because one lost ones balance. “Dira, I didn’t realize you were a gym rat.”
