“Sorry. My mistake. I thought you were someone else,” the young Bajorian man said looking down. He turned and left the table and exited out of the lounge as silently as he had entered.

Dira watched the man with curiosity as he left, her dark eyes all but boring a hole in his back. Then her attention shifted back to the pair. “Well that was interesting…” she said simply.

Achilleas had a confused look on his face. This person clearly seemed to know Ria, or thought they did, but left just as quickly as they arrived. “Yeah… I’m not sure what that was about.” He said as he slowly sat back down. He looked back to Ria to make sure she was doing okay.

It took several moments during which Ria racked her brain to figure out who he was before she actually spoke again. Eventually she said slowly, “I’m not sure either. There was something familiar about him, but …” She let her voice trail off and shook her head slightly. After another brief pause she added, “I’m sorry.” She was still confused about the whole situation, but she also felt it was kind of her fault.

Dira peered at Ria curiously, the emotions in the younger woman all too close to the surface. “Nothing to be sorry about. What could you have done to change the outcome?” she said pointedly but then winked. “Take a deep breath, Ensign. No one’s on trial here.”

Achilleas chuckled in an attempt to support Dira in calming Ria. A bit of levity would likely ease the mood. “I think I could use a drink now. Are you ladies interested in anything? I’ll brave going up to the bar for us all.”
