ic: Cai shrugged. ”Most are ok, I don’t really know them all and him?” he looked at Geth. ”Him I don’t know. One way to fix it however. Should we say hello?”

He looked at the security officer.

“Very well,” Duvosa said, giving a nod. She picked up her drink and then slowly made her way across the room to where Geth sat.

“Hello there,” She said as she stopped to stand in front of him. “I do not believe I have made your acquaintance. My name is Duvosa.” She looked over at Cai to encourage him to give a greeting as well.

Look up Geth gave a smile at the two before shifting a bit to give them a bit of space if they wanted to sit down. “Hello there, I am Gethmire or Geth since that is easier to pronounce. Its nice to meet you.” He took a drink and took in how they were dressed, how they walked and all. “I am new here to the Ogawa, how long have you been on?”

Cai nodded his head and played with his lip ring a moment before taking a drink of his black as tar cola. His bright blue hair, the black metallic piercings in his eyebrow and lip and the black stretcher in his left eye stood out starkly against the white collarless shirt, pressed dress trousers and polished shoes he wore. His finger nails against the glass were also painted black.

“Couple years now.” he said and sat. ”Cai Taylor.” he said.

A few months ago he would have ignored them all and slouched off but it seemed his brooding period had ended for now and he found himself grateful for others to talk to. It was all Brad and Drake’s fault, he mused,

“Nice to meet ya Both” Geth smiled and offered the chairs beside him if the two of them wanted to sit. “Ah I forgot..” Trailing off he pointed down to the floor. “This is Hades, my service dog.” Looking up at his name Hades took them both in before relaxing back under the chair.

“I am Duvosa,” Duvosa said. “I have been on board a few months myself.” She paused to peer down at the dog. “You are an engineer, are you not? Sure the engineering bay is not a suitable work environment for an animal. How do you manage it?” The question was blunt but there was the ever slightest hint of sincerity.

Cai drank his cola and watched Hades a moment. ”That’s very kool.” he said thinking of the dog and how it would be trained. He asked as such. ”How was he trained for starship work?” he asked with genuine interest.

“During my time at the academy, I had to take a bunch of extra time to introduce Hades to the environment he would be working in, I spent and extra year in and graduated with the class after mine. We ended up spending time off and on ships and in different situations. I trained him myself along with a few others at the academy. Besides Hades doesn’t need to be under my feet, as long as he can see me it is alright, so he’ll tuck himself into a corner.” Geth rattled on, he took no offense to the questions, it was normal to him.

Cai nodded as he watched the animal. ”That’s really kool.” he said when Geth was finished. He drank from his cola again, the taste of his dinner still on his tongue.

Geth smiled a bit and drank from his glass, cringing a bit internally about the sudden lull in conversation. “I am glad the Ceremony went by fast, I get uncomfortable in my dress uniform” Geth trailed off and looked around the room again.

Cai nodded. ”Me too, stuffy weird awkward affairs.” he said and made a face. ”Food was good though.” he added thinking to his mad order which he has strangely enjoyed.
