Achilleas nodded and grinned in return, “I am yes. Recently given the position truth be told. Kind of inherited the job when we were stuck in whatever dimensional space damaged the Ogawa. My staff and I are still pouring over the sensor data to add to Starfleet’s database. If our experience and misfortune can help others then it will have been worth it.”

CSO Petrakos

She folded her arms on the desk, leaning in slightly. While not her realm of expertise at all, she was immensely curious about the Ogawa’s recent predicament inside the subspace bubble and she had to admit to looking forward to reading whatever further reports came out of it. “And how are you and your team doing given we’re all stuck on the starbase for the time being?”

Commander Myqian, XO

Achilleas looked at the ceiling for a moment to collect his thoughts before meeting the eyes of the XO again, “About as can be expected I think. We’re not in our own space and that can be disconcerting, but once me and my staff focus in on something that uncomfortable feeling tends to pass. At least we have something to busy ourselves with and that helps.”

CSO Petrakos

“Anything specific besides the data from the subspace bubble that you’re all working on?” Dira asked curiously. It was good that they were being kept busy, but how long that would last remained to be seen.

Commander Myqian, XO

Achilleas nodded enthusiastically, “I thought it might be good to have a xenobiologist on my staff work with medical and see if our exposure has done anything to change our physiology or any sort of other effect. It would be best to find that out sooner than later.”

CSO Petrakos

She nodded as well. “That would indeed be interesting. I look forward to seeing what results come out of the studies.” Leaning back slightly, the commander considered Petrakos. “And how are you doing in your role so far? Do you feel there is anything you need support with or resources you’re missing?” There was nothing worse than being new to a job and to find yourself without the things you needed to do said job. If she could help in anyway, she would try.

Achilleas looked thoughtful for a minute before he grinned wryly, “A ship with a fully working lab that is ours instead of borrowing one would be great. We could always see if Starfleet has any more science officers to send our way. I guess just the usual when we’re stuck without a ship. I think I’ve been doing fairly well, but science isn’t like counseling or some such. It’s easy to get focused and forget the other stuff.”

CSO Petrakos

Dira laughed widely. “I think you’ll find therapists just as focused. It’s just the people change with a regular frequency during our days. But I know I had many days where an issue consumed much of my day and I forgot to eat or something,” she said with a grin. “Happens to a lot of people I’ve noticed. But in any case, I’m working with everyone to find out what’s happening with the ship. We should hopefully have an update soon.”

“But about you specifically? What’s your area of expertise?” the XO asked.
