Dira replied back that she could be available then.

It was a part of the whole getting to know the crew shtick where Dira waited to see what option people would choose. Would they want to meet with her one-on-one? Would they want her to meet the entire team together? Or both? These small things gave her insight but were only small pieces of the much larger puzzles. And if there was anything she knew for certain, it was that even the most seemingly uncomplicated person was a puzzle. It was just a fact of being a sentient being navigating life.

The next day, Myqian adjusted her schedule so that she would be working later. Sitting at her desk, she was working through the latest repair updates. A glance at the time and she knew Walker would be due to arrive anytime now.

The chime to her office rang at 1759.

“Enter,” a clear voice.

Looking up from her desk, Dira smiled, her dark eyes taking him in keenly. “Come in Commander and have a seat,” she said. “I’d offer you a comfier place to sit or some refreshments, but sadly these temp offices are pretty basic,” she added apologetically.

“Ah, it’s fine, Commander,” Brad said, waving off the apology. “I’m planning to get dinner after this anyway, don’t want to fill up beforehand.”

With long brown fingers, Dira tapped a keys and shut off her terminal, moving it off to the side. Folding her arms on the desk, she leaned forward slightly. “So, been an interesting time lately for your department lately, huh?” she said with a lopsided smirk. “Where do you feel everything is at?”

“It’s a very mixed bag,” Brad said. “I’ve got some galaxy-class staff, but the problem is, they’re all specialists. I’m handling all the general practice duties at the moment, which is… well, it’s far from an ideal situation.”

She nodded. “That can definitely make it difficult in the long run. I don’t know yet what I can do about it personally, but it’s definitely a conversation the Captain and I can have. It also doesn’t help that you currently don’t have access to your own med bays for supply stocking etcetera. How is everyone doing mixing in with the Starbase staff?”
