After a long but interesting shift sorting through recorded sensor data, Achilleas took a shower, put on some light Mediterranean clothing, grabbed his cooking supplies and headed to the holodeck. Seeing as he was the first one to arrive, he keyed in the appropriate program and entered.Stepping inside caused a breeze of sea salt air to assail his nose. Having taken a deep breath of familiar smells, despite knowing it wasn’t exactly the same or even real, Achilleas walked towards a gazebo on top of a verdant hill of green. In the distance was the sea and overhead was the beating sun. Inside the gazebo was a wooden table with comfy looking chairs as well as a standing cooking brazier. Putting down the foodstuffs in his hands, he began preparing to cook.

It wasn’t much later that Riani arrived in front of the holodeck. For a minute or two she paced up and down in front of the door, just outside the reach of the door sensors. The few people that passed her by, looked at her with either an amused or sympathetic expression. Eventually she took one last deep breath and entered the holodeck. Today her long brown tresses were braided into two thick braids and she was dressed in short sleeved, off-white summer dress with a some frills and ruffles that fell just below her knees (OOC: https://i.pinimg.com/236x/5b/ec/77/5bec77a93d85595d2b20dd5fc8b12f10.jpg ). Her feet were clad in matching ballerina flats. Spotting Achilleas under the gazebo, she made her way towards him.
“Hello Sir,” Ria greeted him with a soft smile as she arrived next to him. “This is a beautiful place,” she continued as she let her gaze move around, trying to take in every detail. “Where is this?”

“Please, just Achilleas while we’re off duty. While I am your superior when we’re working, I’m not one to get all caught up in the trappings of rank or position.” Achilleas grinned easily, “This beautiful piece of Greece is just outside the town of Sarandë which is on the western coast. It used to be a predominant tourist town back in the 21st century but has quieted down since then. As you can see it has retained its natural beauty and allure. The sight of the ocean from here is breathtaking and a hike through the small hills is a delight.”
“Sorry Sir,” Ria apologised, blushing as she called him sir again and instantly apologised once more. Why did she always manage to make such a fool of herself? In an attempt to get past the awkwardness, she was feeling, she started to turn slowly on the spot to have a closer look at the stunning landscape. “It is truly magnificent!” she said softly.
Moving toward the table Achilleas picked up a small food container and removed its lid, he showed the content to Ria, “I had to make the Galaktoboureko beforehand as it needed the time to set. How does it smell?”

A tender smile started to spread across her face. Ria had an incurable sweet tooth and after getting introduced to Greek desserts and sweets years ago, they had become her guilty pleasure. “It looks and smells amazing,” she replied. Turning her attention towards the cooking brazier she asked, “Can I help you with anything?”

Achilleas covered the container and set it down before grabbing another and cracking the lid, “Now you asked me for two desserts, which I’ve done. I prepped this Kataifi beforehand or at least the cooking portion so that it won’t take long to heat it and add the syrup.” He set this container back down before moving to the rest of the laid out stuff.
Riani peered into the box and smiled. “Thank you for making those desserts.”
“Now over here we have some chicken, some onion, some marinated artichoke hearts, some olives, some roasted sweet red peppers, some scallions, lemons, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh parsley, other seasonings and spices, as well as olive oil of course. So I was lucky enough to get some grape leaves from the hydroponics on the station. Don’t ask what it cost me, it still hurts to think about.” He chuckled here to show that he was joking, sort of. “So we’ll make the dolmadakia as well as some chicken and rice.”

“I’m sorry I caused you problems, Sir. Achilleas,” Ria said, looking concerned; the joke had apparently not registered with her. “I didn’t think of that. I’m sorry.” Suddenly she seemed to withdraw into her shell again and she started the fiddle with the end of her braid. I shouldn’t have asked for anything, It was stupid and selfish of me, she thought to herself. maybe I can make up for it somehow. Walking over to the food she asked, “What can I do to help?”
