A small grin graced Ana’s lips as well. A slight dash of cheekiness entered her normally even voice as she responded, “I received higher than average marks in all of my preliminary courses…” Her voice trailed off as her grin deepened briefly and then faded into curiosity, her head tilting to the side. “What did you not grasp regarding psychology?”
Darren, CoP
Duvosa gave a shrug of the shoulders, her seemingly nonchalant attitude returning. “I just never took an interest in trying to understand other people.” She paused. “Emotions and thought patterns are complicated.” She raised an eyebrow curiously at her companion. “Perhaps we can make a deal. I will train you in some combat techniques and you can help me understand…” Her voice trailed off and she looked lazily around the room. With a wave of her hand, she indicated the other crew members seated about. “These people.”

The laugh that escaped between Ana’s slightly narrowed lips was sharp and seemed to surprise even her for the briefest of moments. “I can train you in common body language and facial cues that would indicate information that could be relevant to your job…” she commented, her voice trailing off as she suddenly grasped at the glass of liquor in front of her and took a healthy sip. “… but I doubt that I will be able to teach you anything about understanding people. You have the wrong person for that.”
Darren, CoP
Duvosa smiled. It was nice to see Ana warming up and coming out of her shell slightly. “Oh?” She asked curiously. If anyone on board would be proficient at understanding people, surely it would be someone in the field of psychology.

The smile on the Romulan’s face seemed to disconcert the psychiatrist briefly; her pale complexion flushed pink quickly. “I’m just not very good with people,” she offered, pressing her lips together and then looking down at her glass. Her sigh was not audible, but it was probably still obvious anyway.

Duvosa chuckled. “Well as you may have noticed,” She smiled broadly, then downed her drink. “Neither am I.” She paused, a soft sigh escaping her lips.
“I have greatly enjoyed your company, Ana,” She said, not even bothering to ask if she could use the other woman’s first name. “I look forward to getting to know you better.” She paused. “Would you like to have another drink or have you had your limit?” She smirked. “I will not think badly of you if you decide that it is time to retire.”
