Mark’s voice popped over the comms at that moment. =/\=Pierce to Jang’xi I’ve found some sort of biological trail. I’ve called down to science for someone a little more versed in these things, carrying a tricorder on the right settings.=/\=

Michael heard Pierce’s call for Jang’xi and the earlier conversation between the Captain, CE and Chief of Staff, as he continued to run scans on the systems.

The systems Easter was examining showed themselves to be in good condition. Pierce seemed to have found the relay issue between Deck 3 and 4, but there were the odd relay between there and the cargo bay on Deck 7 (where previous issues, now fixed had started) that were showing less than ideal power levels.

Willow looked over from her conversation regarding the power fluctuations and approached Easter. “Any further forward Lieutenant?” She asked.

“Deck 7, the cargo bay, still something up with the relays there,” Michael replied, “I’d best see what I can do to fix it. I’ll run a final check here to confirm I do need to go there, to fix the problem, however.”

Michael disappeared back into the guts of the machine and ran the appropriate diagnostic to determine if he could be lazy and fix the problem from here or if he’d have to go to Deck 7 to deal with the problem with the relays.

There seemed to be a series of relays on each deck that were working intermittently. They seemed to form a path connecting where Pierce was working between Decks 3 and 4 and Deck 7.

Willow nodded and watched a moment. As Michael worked she checked the readings herself and frowned. Tracing her finger around the pathway that seemed to be indicated she frowned again.

“Lieutenant what do you make of this?” She asked Michael.

Arun entered the room, his usual calm poised demeanour somewhat off. He was frowning as he strode quickly towards the group, his black eyes trimmed on the Captain.

Mark’s voice piped in over the comms =/\=Pierce to Engineering. We located a life form. A… gastropod, and some eggs in this area. They’ve been taken down to the labs.=/\=

Najma responded directly to Pierce. “My officer is working with a civilian scientist and they have the creature and it offspring under control. How are those relays? Any idea what is causing them? Let me know if I can help.”

=/\=Not entirely sure what it could be looking for. T’Pris described it as semi-sentient though. Whatever it’s doing has some actual motivation. My guess would be basic needs. Nutrition, shelter, that kind of thing.=/\=

“Maybe this lifeform, whatever it is, is feeding on the energy being given off by the power relays,” Michael suggested to Captain Willow, “it may be simply following its instincts, seeing it as a food source, and ultimately a method of reproduction or it may be something deadlier than that. It would be interesting to learn if it is going towards Main Engineering or towards the sickbays and bridge. That may help us learn how the lifeform got onto the Ogawa. And whether or not it was brought on board by someone.”

=/\= Computer, can you identify the source of the relay malfunctions? Which ones occurred first, are they happening in any set order, when did the issues start with the relays =/\=

He skipped pleasentries and just gave a curd nod to the group “The creature? Offspring? Captain, I belive it is time to raise the intruder alert. We belive there are not only sentient but telepathic alien beings on the ship. Melaia and Anisha have detected a telepathic presence on deck 3 where they are searching for it … together with your XO, who hasn’t raised an alarm yet.” he said, and the critique in his voice was hard to miss.

It was clear that Arun was very protective of his twin, and the fact that the XO had not yet followed protocol made him angry. Especially when telepathy was involved. They knew all too well what it could be used for. Don’t go there brother Anisha thought. You know you loose your poise when you think about that past. Center your thoughts in the now. and he did. Anisha had always been better able to deal with that gruesome episode in their past. Probably because he had taken the brunt of the telepathic abuse for her.

Willow frowned deeply. She considered Onuru a moment and nodded curtly. “Calm yourself Doctor. I’m sure that things are under control.”

“I think we might have found the intruder Commander.” Said Najma, “A hideous gastropod creature was contained and taken to the lab.” She shivered a little. “I am not 100%, but I think it could have some telepathic capabilities as a way to communicate. However I think you raise a valid question…how did it come aboard the ship?”

“An excellent question lieutenant.” Willow replied to the CSO and immediately hit her badge in response.

=^= Taylor to Bridge We seem to have located the source of the power fluctuations. Engineering is to work on repair immediately. Science has located a creature of sorts and taken it to the lab. I want it scanned, bio printed and identified if possible. I want a full scan of this ship and any more of these stow always tracked down. Coordinate with security in their sweep. =^=

“Jones,” Michael called to another Engineer in Main Engineering, “you remain here, I’m off to the relays on deck 7 that are intermittent.”

And with that Michael, was out the door of Main Engineering, following his tricorder’s readings to the location where the intermittent relays were located.

As Easter left Taylor continued glancing at the chief of staff and science. “Doctor, I need a detailed account from all telepathic crew member of what this creature or creatures has been projecting and if there has been any negative impact. I want a report as quickly as you can get it to me. Lieutenant you and I are going to science.”

With that willow turned and walked away to the doors fully expecting the officers to follow her.
