Once she had deposited her belongings in her quarters and freshened up, Riani made her way towards sickbay. Sh knew that there was nothing to worry about as she had always been in good health. Not counting a few common illnesses and the usual bumps and bruises. Yet she couldn’t say that physical evaluation - well any type of evaluation, really - was something she particularly enjoyed. So it was with mixed feelings that she stepped into sickbay and looked around for the nearest member of the medical department.

“Can I help you, Ensign?” a voice came off from the side of sickbay, near where the department heads’ offices were.

Brad stood in the doorway, having noticed the arrival of the new blue-shouldered officer and wondering exactly where she belonged.

Riani turned to face the person who had spoke. “I’m here for my physical evaluation.” the petite Bajoran officer replied. Her thick, long hair was tied back into a French braid that fell down to her butt, leaving her earring clearly visible. Realizing that she hadn’t even introduced herself, she blushed slightly and added hastily, “Ensign Iyun Riani. I just got assigned to the USS Ogawa.”

“Science division?” Brad asked, since unless the notification was buried on his desk, he wasn’t aware of any new arrival in his department by that name.

Still, handling her physical would be a welcome distraction from the administrative trivia that made up most of his daily routine, so he walked fully out of the office suite and crossed the room to stand next to a biobed, beckoning her over.

“Yes, Sir,” Iyun replied as she walked further into sickbay and then towards the biobeds. “Thank you for taking the time to take care of my physical evaluation.” After moving her braid s that it would fall over her shoulder and down the front of her body instead, she gracefully hoisted herself on the biobed. And there she sat meekly; back straight, hands folded in her lap and eyes mostly cast down.

“No problem, it’s good to get out of the office now and then,” Brad said as he started the scan.

“So what’s your specialty?”

Looking briefly up, Iyun said, “I’m an astrophysicist, but I also have a minor each in mathematics and theoretical physics.” A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips and eyes as she mentioned her field of expertise. Meanwhile the tricorder would show a few - long healed - fractures: her big right toe, right pinkie and index finger and left wrist. But those fractures were already listed in her medical file. What was new was the partially healed fracture of the smallest toe on her left foot. Walker would also notice a number of bruises in different stages of healing. From their positions and Iyun’s height, he might be able to guess - correctly - that she seemed to bump into things a lot. But otherwise she seemed in good health.
