USS Ogawa
Kyren's Checkin
“Deck 1,” Kyren spoke to the turbolift, gripping her official-issue handbag nervously as the lift began to ascend.
You’ve been trained for this. Ignore the paleskin looks, they’ll get used to you, it’s no big deal. You belong here, Kyren, don’t let them convince you otherwise. She was trying to psyche herself up for this, her first confront… meeting, with a starship Captain. Meeting. You are not going to try and argue with her. Stand there like a statue and be respectful. Don’t foul this up.
The turbolift came to an almost-too-sudden stop (you’ll get used to starship turbolifts, breathe Kyren, breathe), and the door slid open. (Ok, feet. Move.) She took a gasp of air, gave a slight nod, and willed her antennae to behave themselves as she stepped off, and towards the CO’s ready room. She allowed herself the luxury of glancing back over the bridge layout, which she knew from simulations, holographic renderings and schematics, but seeing the real thing in person was always a little different. Then, she set her jaw, and pressed the chime.
Head forward, eyes forward, don’t be stupid.
