Willow sighed again dramatically. “Ok. What do you want Jarvis.”

“I want to ensure that everyone on board this ship is fit to perform their duties. It is my job after all,” Jarvis replied. He gave her the second hypospray. “In your case, consider yourself relieved of duty until you have recovered from this bout of pneumonia and have passed a full physical examination; carried out by myself.”

Willow glared at him. Her eyes were dark and she clenched her jaw as he finished. Reluctantly she got down from the biobed and turned to face him. It took her every shred of control she could muster to speak the next words calmly.

“Fortunately i am NOT on duty tomorrow. I will be back here at 2pm. Be warned Jarvis…you are skating on very thin ice with me. I am not Pope and you can toe the line as much as you like and plead ignorant whatever. However, and mark me well Doctor, push me too far ill leave you at the next station we come to regardless of starfleet command’s orders.”

The cough seemed to be responding to the medication for now and she waited for him to indicate he understood.

Dr Jarvis let out an amused chuckle, it seemed his last comment had succeeded in getting under her skin. “I would have thought ensuring everyone aboard this ship adhered to Starfleet regulations, would have been one of your top priorities as Captain,” he said smugly.

“I’ll be waiting for you at 2pm tomorrow.”
