Instead of calling out for the door to open, Brad came to investigate the thunk.

“Oh, Cai. What’re you doing down here?” he asked when he saw his visitor.

The teen shrugged. “Marshall let me watch a surgery. I wanted to ask you something.” He glanced at the Chief of staff momentarily.

Brad raised an eyebrow in curiosity (and just a bit of internal alarm), but stepped aside and gestured for Cai to enter his office.

Cai followed and dropped into the seat before Brad’s desk.

“Alright then, ask away.”
