What ever it was that had upset McNalie was not evident but she was stalking around engineering taking on job after job non-stop. Not the deasy jobs either the ones that were messy, dirty, frustrating and that most people avoided until ordered to do it. Nobody could fault her work as as was usual she tore things apart reassembled them and they worked better than they had before they broke. She had already gone through four sets of coveralls because grease, and other contaminents were part of the tasks she was taking on. At the rate she was finishing these jobs the CE was going to have a hard time finding punishment details. For McNalies part she wanted nothing so much as to be left alone and any engineer seeing the type of jobs she was doing was finding somewhere else to be lest they get asked to get involved. So most of her shift went by with people giving her a wide berth. At shift change is when engineers noticed that other than just being irritable McNalie was not keeping to her normal routine. She clocked out exactly at shift change and was gone in the time it took to blink. McNalie practically lived in engineering pulling another half shift on top of her duty hours on most days. NE Lipscotte the hub of all things that might pass for gossip tried to follow McNalie but lost her at the turbolift when McNalie had quite rudely blocked her entry. There was no love lost between the two as Lipscotte tended to report imagined wrong doing as if it was fact. This rudeness would lead to at least a weeks worth of snide comments from NE Lipscotte who was always willing to bend a ear willing listener or not.
