Pilar looked at the message that Jonathan and Ally had left. She needed to arrange ongoing treatment for her daughter, and decided that she needed to involve the Captain. She should have done this a while ago, but had been in denial about how serious the issues were. Pilar stopped outside of Willow’s office and rang the chime.

Head Nurse

“Come in!” Willow’s voice yelled and as the door opened to admit Pilar the red headed woman looked up. Her expression fell when she saw the nurse. “What have Marshall or Jarvis done now?” She asked warily.

Pilar looked at Willow “Well, nothing today. But we’ll not talk about yesterday or the day before.” She said with a wry smile

“I’d appreciate that, this is the first day in a while I haven’t had a headache.”

Something about the woman’s expression caught her attention and she frowned. “Come in, have a seat, can I get you a drink or something?” She asked.

Pilar took a seat “A glass of iced tea would be great.” She said “I apologize for bothering you Captain. HOwever with the recent staffing changes, my husband and I have a situation that if it can’t be handled here, I will have to return to earth to deal with it.” She said “Or rather, I will have to send Derek and Otana back to Earth without me.” She modified her statement.

Head nurse

Willow crossed to the replicator and returned with two glasses of ice tea. “You aren’t bothering me Commander, and I know how important your family is to you. I wouldn’t like to see either of those instances come to fruition. Please, explain what’s going on and I’ll do my best to help.”

Pilar took a deep breath “It started about 18 months ago, just before I was assigned to the Ogawa.” She said accepting the glass of tea “We were in San Francico, and had come back from an event. We had been celebrating the assignment to the Ogawa. We had put Otana to bed and we went to bed. We woke up to the sound of crashing glass and when we got to Otana’s room, she was gone. It took us another 6 months to find her and get her back. What we learned, was that she had been taken by a faction of Cardassians that refused to believe that the war was over.”

Willow blinked as the information she heard processed. She couldn’t imagine something so terrible…so frightening.

Pilar looked down “She has a brain injury that is going to require a lot of therapy and retraining.” She said “Dr. ALly and Jonathan were going to use the holodeck to work on stress reduction and and increasing frustration toleration.” Pilar sighed “After surviving the war and being tortured by the Cardassians myself, I have a serious hatred for the Cardassians and they have not found the Cardassians that took my daughter. I have a serious desire for revenge.” She added.

Willow nodded and considered her carefully, “ I understand. We can of course look into whatever programs that Doctors Scott and Reez were planning and create an action plan. If you like I can ask Doctor Walker to come and discuss with us? Would that be ok?” As head of medical Walker would have full access to all the records, and Willow was sure he would have a better idea on things than she did.
