M’Nalie had grown up in a sociery of what could best be called Modern primatives. While they had and used as much technology as anyonue else little of that technical ology had any function as entertainment. Thus the idea of a soap opera confused her. So in a attempt to better understand exactl0y what was meant when people spoke of the invaders to the ship she asked the Holodeck to generate a program. She likely needed a interpreter for this so she had sent out invitations to the ships crew. The Holodeck had assigned her the role of visiting dignitary negotiating mineral rights for her people. It was not a role she liked much as it was in a way exactly the type of job her Mother the Matriarch would of assigned her had she stayed on Cait.

M’Nalie beamed into a starport. From her peoples warship. Sh7e was greeted by several representatives of various races that had mineral intrests they wished to sell. Hercears flattened as Ferrengi, Saurians and Klingons all loudly vied to drown out each other in a enthusiastic cacophany of noise. She stepped off the transporter padd wear ceremonial tribal dress and looked at the Federation representative she was there to meet.

M’Nalie Eshenti. Eldest Daughter of the Matriarch. Representative of the Clan.

Federation security stepped in the escort the big Caitan through the mass of traders that were clamoring for her atention. Fredricks the Federation representative could not understand how word had leaked to so many traders from so many factions about what was supposed to be a secret meeting. He would of started to appologise except that was when M’Nalie lost patience with the scenario and canceled the program.

M’Nalie snorted with distaste as she looked at the bare walls of the Holodeck. Humans were not the only species that had so called soap operas. So she chose to fire up a alien soap opera.

“Computer. Generate a episode of Imperial Klingon Vessel Vengence. “, Loud Garish Klingon music blared throughout the holodeck as the scene resolved around her. She found herself wearing Klingon warrior armor. And she thought this should be interesting. The plot revolved around a Klingon Captain with corrupt superiors who held the Captain’s daughter hostage to insure his compliance with the wishes of those superiors. She checked her padd to see who she was supposed to be and then said, “Computer begin program.”

Ensign M’Nalie Eshenti. Engineer.

Ooc: I like this idea Roger, thank you for that. Let me know if you want company

Cale

OOC: Ofc I don’t always put everyone welcome in titles but if it’s in public or on the holodeck and not a date night thing I am happy for anyone who wants in to join.
Roger.

The Vengence was not a ship that many aspired to serve on. The elderly D7 was woefully out of date even with it’s technological updates. It was a ship built in the glory days of the Empire. It’s Captain was as out of favor as his ship. Considered old fashioned by the young, Distrusted by his peers since he had refused promotions or retirement and stayed out of political entanglements. The Vengence was in port resupplying before another patrol with a load of raw cadets straight out of the Klingon training academy.

M’Nalie was a Marine. But she was responcible to only the Captain. Her assignment by the Thought Admiral was generally considered to be a insult to the Captain. Implying he was to old and feeble to protect himself. The Captain did not seem to notice and treated her with respect. This position of course was also considered a insult to the Marine force leader who normally would of had thè Cabin M’Nalie berthed in. To get to the Captain’s cabin you had to pass throught M’Nalies cabin. The Marine force leader was not taking the insult graciously go say the least and he was once again in her berth with a trivial excuse to see the Captain and insult M’Nalie. M’Nalie as a non Klingon serving the Empire was not likely to be seen kindly by many. which is why she had this job. She had nothing to gain by accepting bribes or promices.

“M’Nalie”, he sneered as K’Jar the marine force leader, as he made to go past her. M’Nalie blocked him and K’Jar snarled and moved to strike her. M’Nalie did not hesitate and catching his arm twisted it behind the officer. Turning him easily till he faced the exit to the corridor she propelled him with her foot out into the corridor. “You have no manners K’Jar. Entering a womans quarters without using the door chime is against regulations.”, The door to her quarters shut and she engaged the lock in case he tried to reenter. K’Jar was normally a better fighter than that but that she stood up to him had surprised him. The Captain was asleep. He would have no interuptions.

M’Nalie. Captains bodyguard and Champion.

Meanwhile on the bridge the first officer was both bored and annoyed as various crew and junior officers brought him reports on the ships resupply. The crew were all back from leave and the ship would be ready to leave within the hour. The new Cadets were being instructed, more likely brow beaten into their roles on the ship. The bridge crew and the senior officers were the only crew not fresh out of the academy. On paper the oncoming mission was unremarkable. Escort three merchant ships to their next port of call. But the Vengence never got the easy jobs. So he knew trouble was coming. He ordered the prevoyage checklist. Checked on readiness with each of the ships departments and grunted a non commital grunt. The IKV Vengence was ready.

Gordon stepped onto the holodeck in his hiking gear, only to be surprised when it changed to a Klingon warriors general duty clothes. He appeared to be on the bridge of a Klingon vessel…an old rusty one at that.

An older Klingon grabbed him by the collar and shouted in his face, “K’jar! Your late! Take your post at the weapons console!”

Gordon, or “K’jar” as he appeared to be in this simulation blinked, he hadn’t been grabbed like this in a while and did the only thing he could think of…he head butted the Klingon. It hurt, quite a lot, considering the safeties were on.

Wiping the blood from his head he walked over to where he vaguely remembered seeing someone on an old holo recording firing disrupters from. He was rewarded with a display that looked vaguely like tactical, although he couldn’t read Klingon so it could well have been the food processing control station for all he knew.

Whoever’s simulation this was sure did like it rough, hopefully they didn’t mind Gordon’s interruption in this little game. He glanced over at the unhappy Klingon getting to his feet, hopefully the head but got the message across..

Crewman Gordon Muir, Security

OOC: hope you don’t mind?

Al’

OOC: Not at all as this is a TOS era vessel weapons controls are on the helm. Also the writing on displays would be galactic standard using a Klingon looking font so understandable. The more the merrier.

IC:
Laughter met the headbutting exchange but it was cut short as the first officer stood. He took a few steps and stood behind the newly arrived K’Jar. “An officer must be strong enough to discipline thecwarriors under his command, and it is the right of any officer to do so as they see fit. But the bridge is no place for fighting.”, and the First officers tone took on a harsh tone that implied or else. The first officers placement prevented the offended officer from stabbing K’Jar with the triple pronged knife he had drawn as he got up. “If this happens on the bridge again or anyone takes revenge too seriously they will be punished.”, and the first officer touched K’Jar on the left shoulder with a agonizer. It was set to minimum setting but it still hurt like every nerve was on fire. It Nwas a brief touch, just a reminder of the fact that a senior officer could make your life really miserable. “”Now then.” he said turning to face the Klingon with the knife. “Put that away.”, and the offended officer did as told. The first officer then upped the setting very deliberately so that the Warrior could see him do it and applied the agonizer to that Klingon For slightly longer than he had on K’Jar. “Do not let me see this type of behavior again.”, he said and resumed his seat

First officer K’Dree. IKV Vengence.
