Gordon strode down the passageways of the ship feeling more and more confused as he went, although he was following a PaDD map he had still made 3 wrong turns. He really should be better at this by now but at the moment he was hoping he wouldn’t be late or worse, fail to find the place!

Eventually he made it, he thought, to the right room. With a quick check in the LCARS panel reflection of his uniform and a sigh he pressed the button to open the door. The waiting room that appeared to him was modestly furnished but seemed empty, did that mean no one onboard had mental issues or did the door to the actual office simply vent to space? He mentally chided himself on a wandering mind and sat down to wait for his appointment…

Crewman Gordon Muir, Security

OOC: I presume it’s got a waiting room…

OOC: So do I!

IC:

Within moments of Muir taking his seat, a slender, dark haired woman dressed in a Starfleet uniform with teal trim and lieutenant pips appeared silently by his side. “I’m Doctor Darren, come with me,” she instructed, her voice bordering on a direct order but not quite that firm. Without looking back to see if he was following her, she strode into the closest office and took a seat behind the utilitarian desk. Pointing at the chair in front of it, she waited for Muir to take a seat and then slid an unremarkable jar of multicolored lollipops toward him. “Lollipop?”

Darren, Psychiatrist

Gordon nearly fell off his seat at the appearance of the women, his PaDD went flying as he tried to swivel round at the expected yet sudden appearance of…his mind went blank as he stared at the woman. He was dazzled by the dark hair moving as she spoke, her black eyes seem to absorb his gaze.

He was dimly aware of a noise, was she talking? He was snapped out of his dimwitted staring as she about turned and disappeared.

“Wow she’s pretty..” he said out loud then realised like an idiot she has probably heard that, he quickly followed hoping she hadn’t.

He was again dumbfounded when a jar of sweeties appeared in front of him, “ugh…no thank you ma’am, my last dentist said I should lay off them…” he said in a somewhat confused and bewildered tone.

“This is the Psychology section, isn’t it ma’am?” He asked in a nervous manner.

Thankfully for Muir, Ana had been focused on the journey into her office and completely missed his remark. She narrowly resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the comment regarding the dentist. Perhaps she should start handing out vegetables instead to make the other medical staff on the ship happier. Pushing the container back to its proper place on her desk, she answered simply, “yes, it is.” It took her a few moments before she realized that she should probably explain more thoroughly. Tucking her hair behind her ears reflexively, she continued, “I’m a psychiatrist, a medical doctor specializing in the assessment and management of mental illness. I’m also qualified to provide therapy.” Without so much as a pause to indicate a change in subject, she continued on, “you must be Crewman Muir?”

Darren, CoP

Gordon smiled embarrassedly, “Sorry, I didn’t even introduce myself. Yes I am Crewman Muir, I’m here for my boarding psychological assessment. Is now an okay time to do this ma’am?” He said in his somewhat strange part Scottish part Federation standard accent.

“Yes,” Ana replied simply. She shifted slightly in her seat as her eyes swept down in an outwardly assessing manner before she began to speak again. “Is there anything you would like to share that would impact your ability to serve as security personnel aboard the Ogawa?” As she gained experience with the boarding evaluation process, she had begun to find this an excellent question to start off with in order to conclude these awkward meetings as quickly as possible.

Darren

Gordon appeared to stiffen under her gaze, it felt like someone was scanning him with a tricorder. He was confused by the question for a moment, she might tell by his scrunched up fore head as he mentally processed it.

“I’m not sure ma’am? Maybe my accent? I don’t know…I feel like I’m good to go! I just want to sort of get my teeth into actually doing my job for real now, if you know what I mean?” He said with obvious enthusiasm, although tinged with a bit of nervousness.
