Gordon dodged yet another medical crewman, or was it an officer? He hadn’t been paying attention, his eyes darted from the PaDD in his hands to the door numbers. He knew he was near his destination purely from the number of bustling medical staff and he thought he was on the right deck, his inadvertent exit onto the bridge from the turbo lift told him that.

After a few more turns he made it to a large pair of doors which he presumed to be the main sickbay, with a sigh of relief he stepped inside and was almost crushed underfoot by a determined nurse pushing a cart. He made his way to a nearby bulkhead while he scanned the room for someone who looked in charge…

Drake now frequently had to leave the comfort of secondary sickbay to hand certain PaDDs over to the Chief of Staff. As he was on his way out, he found someone in his path. Someone looking very confused. “Can I help you?” He asked, hoping the answer was no.

Gordon’s head snapped round at the sound of the voice, the man had appeared out of thin air…how did such a lanky individual sneak around like that? Then he noticed the pips on the mans neck, an officer, although Gordon had guessed that already by the cocky and overconfident air the man had.

No matter how they tried to hide it, officers tended to have that attitude. It was like someone preprogrammed them at birth to all talk with that “I’m in charge” manner. And what was with that weird American accent…

“Uhh I hope so sir, I was to report here for my boarding medical? I’ve just transferred onboard…could you point me in the right direction?” He said knowing that he sounded as confident as a teenager trying to buy his first non synthahol drink.

“Yeah. Right. Over there.” Drake pointed to a biobed. “I’m Dr Marshall, Chief of Surgery. Hopefully it won’t go that far.” He picked up a medical tricorder. “Name?”
