Scott wandered around through the decks of the Owie with a glum look on his face. “The head shrink,” he thought to himself with no little bit of self consciousness, “they are going to look into my soul and see how… never mind.”He followed the map around until he found the offices and looked around for a wandering shrink.
Lt. Woods
EngineeringA wandering shrink soon wandered right into him. She looked at the engineer with a startled grimace, like she hadn’t expected someone to be there, but her features soon turned more neutral. “Hello, can I help you?” she greeted the lieutenant.
Darren, Psychiatrist
Woods glanced at the pips on Darren’s collar, a bad habit adopted by most experienced Star Fleet officers. “Ah. Doctor, Lieutenant? Lieutenant Doctor?” he stammered before holding out the PaDD with the orders for the required evaluation. “I need my, uh, head shrunk so I can be declared fit for duty.”
Lt. Woods
EngineeringAna busied herself for a moment straightening the very pips that Woods examined and brushing her uniform back into place. She reached out and took the PaDD from him in a manner that was vaguely similar to a snatch, but slightly more polite. Perusing it for a moment, she gave him a nod and said, “come with me” as she spun around to walk into her office, not checking to see if Woods was following her. “You can address me as Lieutenant Darren or Doctor Darren. I prefer Doctor,” she commented as she made her way around her desk, gesturing to a chair in front of it. Without so much as taking a breath, she moved on to her first question of the evaluation, punctuated with a reach toward the glass container atop her desk full of colorful confections. “Lollipop?”
Darren, Psychiatrist
Scott followed Ana along as one does. Something between a shuffle and a waddle. “Aye, Doctor,” he said as he looked around at the walls as they walked, examining them for something before they entered the office.
Taking a seat in the chair that was offered, he nodded and said, “Uh. A red one please?” He reached out and took it before opening it, tugging at the wrapper before the sugary treat popped out into his hand.
Lt. Woods
EngineeringOOC: Sorry, Geoff, totally forgot about this.
IC:
Ana’s office was precisely as it had been when she had joined the ship, although she had conceded to place an old-fashioned framed version of her medical school diploma on the wall behind her desk. The only other personal touch was the utilitarian jar of lollipops positioned on her desk, which she now slid toward Woods so that he could make his selection. “Do you commonly feel rage or anger?” she asked as he did so.
Darren, Psychiatrist
Woods put the lolly into his mouth and sucked on it contemplatively for a while. “No,” he finally said as he slipped the candy out and started to gesture with it when he spoke. “Frustration yes, but anger only rarely and never rage. I can’t think of anything that would make me rage, to be honest. I suppose if my family were held hostage or something extreme like that.”
