Once she reached the small briefing room Willow sat at the head of the table and waited for the crew following her to sit themselves. She considered the position of the room. Just along the corridor it formed a nice triangular point with primary sickbay and the bridge forming the base. Hopefully that would put them within easy reach of any drama. And if this was a holosoap drama was sure to enfold in spades.

“Ok…” she began as the room quietened. “As you can see we have a slight problem.”

“Yeah. Your stories have come to life.” Drake said without thinking. “Captain.” It was at this moment he regretted accepting this job. “If these people are products of this environment, they can’t be stable to begin with. Hippocratic oath.” He gestured washing his hands. “But there are people on this ship not sworn to do no harm. They’re like holodeck programs. We can destabilise them the same way, I’d imagine. If you think of redirected photons as physiology.”

“Self aware programs aren’t exactly new. And they seem to have a shared delusion. We could recreate a room from this soap opera on a holodeck, make them comfortable. Then seal them off and destabilise anything that isn’t made of matter.”

“We also have yet to completely round them all up,” Brad said. “Nobody’s actually gone down to Deck 9 to retrieve out fifth and final guest.”

Willow glared at Drake. ” They are not Myprograms thank you Doctor Marshall. They just so happen to believe that this ship and its crew are from that place. Regardless i do not believe these people are programmes…at least not in the way we understand them.”

She paused and rubbed her temples. “The woman, Erica, made a comment akin to things she finds irritating about our universe. That makes me think these people are not from our universe and that perhaps this bubble we seem to be caught in is somehow tied to that. Where the holosoap comes in I have no idea. And while you are correct Chief.” She added looking at Pierce. ” I have lost a crew member to these people and i am not prepared to lose any more.”
She looked around the room at the deparment heads.

At the table, Rico held Ally’s hand firmly. Normally this would have been a sign of affection and protection, but for now it was because with their hands still handcuffed together from losing the key to Rico’s antique handcuffs, they hadn’t had time to undo the lock without damaging the historical pair of cuffs. “The Ogawa isn’t equipped with holo emitters outside the holodecks or Medical Bays,” he stated, “and one of these things walked through a closed door in the psych offices. How are these ‘programs’ maintaining form and how are we going to contain them unless we can trap them in a force field?”
