Dark eyes gazed at Kree and Mel nodded. “Hello, Commander,” she greeted amiably. “How are things today?” She was in a slow job still and managing to keep her pace, tough she had slowed down a tiny bit to find this new comfortable pace.

Talyn looked over at the woman. She’d studied all the personnel files of the people on board, including their families. “You are Melaia Reez? Wife of Jonathan Reez?” (OOC: I don’t think they’ve met yet, have they?)
OOC: Not yet.
IC:
“Indeed I am,” Melaia said with a smile and a respectful bow of her head.”The woman was a former Captain in Star Fleet, so Kree maintained a respectful demeanor. “Things are fine, Ma’am, although life on a ship this small is very different than what I’m used to.” She stepped up on the treadmill and and programmed her workout into the console. It began to move slowly, from a walk to a jog. Later on it would be a full run and then the whole thing would reverse for a controlled cool down.
—Kree, XO
“Don’t I know it,” Reez said with a light laugh. “This ship is different from any I’ve ever served on. Then again, I was on mostly science or explorer type vessels, so that alone changes things. ” She looked around a bit. “Still, I do find the Ogawa interesting, if quiet.” She certainly didn’t wish the adventures she had had on the Apollo and Endeavour on the Ogawa.
“And please, don’t worry about the ma’am. It’s appreciated, but not necessary.” Mel had never been a super formal captain to begin with, and as a civilian it just seemed… werid.

“Well that is good to know.” Zoi grinned as she walked over from where she had been quietly lifting weights. She wasn’t one to be overtly social in the Gym if other’s were quiet, but she did like companions for working out. When one flagged, a companion could give encouragement where it was sorely needed. Being a security officer, she had very good reason to keep herself in peak physical shape and Zoi Haven had always done so. Even when she was at her mother’s facility taking care of her more emotionally turbulant years, Zoi spend time in the gym as a way to unwind from the tension and energy sapping stress. She was more than a little sweaty from the early part of her workout. Sweat glistened on pale skin. Hair was up in an intricate braid and a sweat band going around the edge of her hairline.
Today was her long gym day where she tended to spend almost three hours in here working out. Cardio, strength training, cardio. But somehow, despite its long hours, long gym day was still easier to handle than leg day.
She hopped onto the treadmill on the other side of Melaia Reez and punched in her routine. As the treadmill began it’s slow wind up, she took off her weight lifting gloves and placed them to the side. “I like the Ogawa so far. She has a good crew.” Of course Zoi knew the two women her were running beside her. One might be nervous in the presence of one’s XO and the wife of a man who was flirting with her during dinner the other night, but Zoi didn’t seem to be as she joined them in good humor. Endorphins had long since kicked in and she was riding the natural high.
