M’Nalie looked Jess over from head to toe and smiled back at her. M’Nalie being a Carnivore though the smile wasn’t usually a comfortable one for most other species.
“Doctor. I am M’Nalie. I do not want to be disrespectful but I have been warned by fellow officers to avoid surgeons on this ship as the surgery team is severely lacking in sanity. I have no desire either to be involved in unethical medical practices that I am warned one of the doctors aparently was in prison for having performed prior to being assigned to this ship. This of course is unverified chatter by crew who seem to enjoy saying negative things about others. Gossip I think you call it? The concept of discussing cronjecture and the mutation of that conjecture as it is passed from person to person is astonishing to me. My clan do not indulge in such practices as it leads to misinformation and misunderstandings. So perhaps you could clarify the veracity of the gossip statements so that should I be injured I can decide if it would be preferable to die rather than trust the medical staff.”, she asked in a serious bass rumble to Dr. Jess.

Ensign M’Nalie. Engineer.

Jessica listened carefully to M’Nalie, her head tilted to the side such that her blonde ponytail tipped over one shoulder. As the engineer finished her discussion of the practices of the surgical staff, her green eyes lit up with humor and she unleashed a series of giggles before finally getting control of herself, realizing that the Caitian was entirely series in her line of questioning. “Well, you don’t have to be worried, as I’m not part of the surgical staff, but I assure you, all of the doctors I’ve met have been very professional and capable,” she responded, her tone soothing. “But you can always come see me if you have any medical concerns. I have some experience with your species.”

OOC: Bump for Roger :)

Ooc: Was waiting on any of the other two posting.

M’Nalie nodded and said, “Thank you doctor. I will make a suitable set of instructions in case I am ever incapacitated .”, and she streached some more hthen looked about for thexteacherxand her student. “The lack of enthusiasm the child displays seems infectious. I feel as though it has been weeks since he entered the changing room. Hexwould not impress any of the clans females if he were my species.” And to occupy her time shexstarted looking for a large stone of decent heft to play with.

OOC: They’re both on LOA so we might be waiting a bit. :)

IC:

Jessica grinned. “Every person should have a set of instructions, whether they’re the most common race a doctor deals with or the least common. Everyone has different wishes and desires when it comes to medical concerns,” she commented. The content of her speech could certainly sound like a lecture, but her joyful and passionate tone helped underly the importance she placed on what she was saying. “And, well, slowness is a trademark characteristic of human teenagers, you’ll learn. What should we do to pass the time while we wait?”

Cai for his part seemed utterly like this was his worst nightmare. He pushed his ear buds further into his ears and despite his teachers instructions did not remove his hoodie. He plunged his hands further into the pocket and silently cursed his sister for making him go.

Cai

M’Nalie found her rock and tossed it hand to hand up and and catch then sighing flung is far into the lake and shrugged, “Not heavy enough.” she explained before anyone could ask . “I have to admit that anthropology never interested me and what is normal behavior for children of other speices never crossed my mind. Till I visited Japan I had never iet Human children. My encounter there was baffling at best and put me into quarantine for several weeks.” , she mused.

Observing the boy had not in fact changed and was still engrossed in his padd she flicked an ear. Ear buds or not she heard the music clearly as like all Caitan’s her hearing was Exceptional. She called over to Cai, “That is the reworked version the original was far better.” ,

“Teenagers of every species seem to be befuddling at best,” Jessica commented with a laugh. “I’ve received plenty of training in normal behavior and they still confuse me half of the time.” Her head tilted to the side curiously as she heard M’Nalie call out to Cali and she watched with interest to see how the teen would respond.

Bump for Roger/Cale

M’Nalie had never been able to just stay still and to say that waiting on others was not something she was good at might be considered a understatement, she was starting to get frustrated. There was nothing here that she could see that provided any sort of challenge to her so she made her way back to the enterance and called up the arch. A few minutes fiddling with the controls and she was ready. A few quick commands. She hid the arch again. Then she walked back to where she had left the doctor pulling on a pair of gloves made for her and a bucket of talc powder. She had added a few things to the scene a series of stone spheres each larger than the last and a ttwelve foot long wooden pole about the roughly a foot an a half round. She put the bucket down and started a more serious warm up than she had done beforehand. “Enough nonsence. If they choose to waste time I might as well have some fun.”, she rumbled to the doctor as she warmed up and streached.
