A couple minutes later, a man strode into the med bay. He ran a hand over his dark hair and looked around at the patients. “Why didn’t anyone call me?” he said with a frown. “And has anyone seen Dr. Mercer?”

James had finished with the Ensign and looked around sickbay and spotted the newcomer. He walked over to the man frowning, so far it had not been a good day and a random stranger walking into sickbay wasn’t making it any better,]]
“Who the hell are you?” He asked sounding a bit more harsh than he intended but he was tired and slightly grumpy.

Ens. James McNair (Trauma/Emergency med)

The man arched his brows. “Yeah, I get that a lot, but don’t worry, I won’t hold it against you. Now, simple question… where’s Dr. Mercer. You know, my intern?”

James frowned at the man’s oddly coy manner.
“I’m sure you do when you won’t tell people who are.” James retorted.
“I have absolutely no idea who you are talking about. Are you sure you have the right ship?” James asked taking a medical tricorder.

Ens. James McNair (Trauma/Emergency med)

Hearing the exchange, Jessica approached the ensign that she knew and the doctor who she didn’t. “I’m not familiar with a Dr. Mercer,” she murmured, mostly so that McNair could hear as her eyes took in the man in front of her. A brilliant smile coming over her face, she queried, “who are you?”

Lemann

James nodded as Leman informed him that she did not know who Dr Mercer was. James folded his arms as waited for the man to respond to Leman’s question. He took in the man in front of him. He didn’t know a Dr Mercer and he was glad that Leman didn’t either.

The man offered his hand to Jessica. “Doctor Markus Hendricks. I’m one of the General surgical Attendings. And who do I have the pleasure of meeting?” he asked, a warm grin appearing on his face.

“I… think you have the wrong ship,” Jessica responded, cheerfully, her face a picture of amusement and innocence. “I’ll be right back.” Making her way across sickbay to where she was out of earshot of their visitor, she tapped her comm badge:

James nodded in agreement. “I think you definitely have as well.”

=/\=Congratulations, Doctor, you just met one of our Captain’s imaginary friends,=/\= Brad replied. =/\=Assuming he’s not the same one I just told Dr. Jarvis to deal with, kindly tell him he’ll find who or whatever it is he’s looking for in the Primary Sickbay.=/\=

=/\= Yay, me! =/\= Jessica’s initial response came through with remarkably unsarcastic delight. =/\= Should I have him escorted there? Can I nominate Doctor McNair for that task if so? =/\=

She directed an impish grin at the fellow doctor beside her as she spoke the words.

Lemann

James mouthed thanks at Lemann and gave her a sarcastic thumbs up. This was not a task he was looking forward to and he knew that Lemann knew that. He was already coming up with ways to get her back when he turned to stranger.
“Right, shall I show you to Primary Sickbay?” He asked whilst hoping he would declined the offer.

McNair (Trauma/Emergency Med)

Jessica’s grin took a charming turn at McNair’s sarcastic thumbs up as she waited to see both what Walker would respond with and whether their new friend would be amenable to a change in scenery.
