As it was a medical ship, there was never a lack of trained doctors and nurses on hand. It made the thought of a boarding examination seem rather painless and relatively easy. Duvosa knew there were a few things in her medical record that always caused doctors to raise their eyebrows and show concern. Over the years she had merely brushed those reactions off and realized that she was who she was.

Stepping into the main Sickbay, Duvosa looked around. It was a small crew, no doubt they had all seen the Romulan looking woman on board already. That should ease some of the more shocked and surprised looks she got. Hopefully.

-Lt jg Duvosa, SEC

“Hey there.” a friendly nurse greeted her. “Haven’t seen you around. Must be new. Come on, I’ll take you to a doctor.”

Drake was laying back on a biobed, reading. As he heard footsteps approaching, his BP increased slightly. “This better be good.”
“It’s your job.” A tricorder and PaDD were tossed onto his abdomen. He looked up and over at Duvosa. “Half Romulan, half Human. Interesting enough to get up. Name?”

-Dr Drake Marshall

Duvosa followed the nurse, eyeing the doctor she was taken to, her eyebrow arched. “Duvosa,” She stated. “Lieutenant junior grade. Glad my presence is worth your time.” That last bit she spat out with a note of sarcasm.

Drake got up off the biobed. “Dr Drake Marshall. And forgive me if I lack enthusiasm about telling someone who knows they’re well, that they’re well. Have a seat.” He opened the tricorder as he pulled up her file. Childhood is interesting.

As Drake started his scans, he didn’t expect much, but one never knows.

-Dr Drake Marshall

The scans would all seem very normal for a woman of her age, and of mixed Romulan and human descent. Several of her organs, specifically her heart, showed signs of aging well past her 26 years. Everything was functioning normally but a keen eye might notice those signs of strain and stress.

As he scanned her, Duvosa looked at him curiously, one eyebrow raised. An interesting man for sure. She remained silent as he worked, pondering what some of the other crew members might be like.

Drake closed his tricorder. “Your Starfleet medical record is fine, but… something is off. Your body has been strained to the point where, your heart especially, almost seems older than it is. So, what’s not in the paperwork from your previous assignments?”

-Dr Drake Marshall

The woman in front of him stared at him blankly. “I had a…” She paused, her lips pursed together, as if she was not comfortable speaking about herself. “Difficult childhood. I suffered many different ailments and sicknesses. My parents took me to many doctors and specialists. No one could seem to find any permanent cure. Once I got older, my symptoms simply ceased. I have always been given a clear bill of health by any attending physician.” She looked up at him, staring intently, hoping his questioning would be over with.

-Lt jg Duvosa, SEC

“Well, everything seems in working order, it just… concerned me for a moment. If symptoms have abided, just keep an eye on it. Especially in a department like security.”

-Dr Drake Marshall, Chief of Surgery

“Thank you,” Duvosa said, giving him a nod. “Was there anything else?” She was most certain to be done with this particular task.

-Lt jg Duvosa, SEC

“Just one standard question. Have you recently had an infection or come in contact with someone carrying an infectious disease?”

-Dr Drake Marshall, Chief of Surgery
