There was nothing harder than keeping the attention of teenagers. Sometimes, Echego wondered if it would be easier to herd cats than to deal another day with the rowdiness of fledgling adults. Others, she knew it would. Although vexing, she found the challenge stimulating. Each day was something new–usually a fresh retort or insult that left the Klingon two steps from strangling a child, but nonetheless new. Today, she was ahead of the game.It was 0530 when the message would appear on her student’s educational PaDDs. She had intended it this way, knowing class would not begin for another two-and-a-half hours, which gave them adequate time to prepare for the day. Addressed to them, the message read:
Students,
**Class will take place in Holosuite 2 today, rather than our classroom. You will not require typical supplies. Instead, I have attached a list of items you will need for today’s activities. I expect to see you all dressed and fed at 0800 this morning. If you are inclined to skip breakfast this morning, I suggest you rethink that thought; you will need any energy you can muster. **
Ms. Echego.
Attached to the message was a list of items:
- Functional swimwear
- Running shoes
- Functional athletic clothing
- Water bottles and any additional exertion-related necessities (i.e. inhalers, etc.)Snacks, lunch and water refills will be provided to you. As will all athletic equipment and additional supplies.
Today was going to be a different kind of session.
Echego, Teacher
OOC: If any of the crew or civilians would like to be involved, they are more than welcome to attend!

M’Nalie recieved an alert that a athletic event was going to be held on holodeck two. It did not specify what the activity would be or who would be attending but of interest was that it was being sponsoed by a Klingon. She had always wanted to wrestle a Klingon. She went through the equipment list. Replicated a one piece bathing suit that would do as athletic attire as well. Added a webb harness to carry 4 oversized canteens. Distributing the weight so that it did not bother her. Visions of a triathalon, or survival exercise danced in her head and she was so excited at the prospect she started purring. She arrived at the entry to holodeck 2, 10 minutes early. Logged her activity with engineering in case she was needed then paced impatiantly till others arrived. She had eaten yesterday so should not need to eat again for another two days so she did not bring more than 20 pounds of beef jerky as a snack. Earth produced many interesting flavors of jerky that she was eager to sample.

The message itself caused havoc in the Taylor quarters that morning.
“What the hell is functional athletic clothing, I mean and swimwear? What is wrong with his woman?” Cai complained loudly as he stormed around in his pyjamas.
Willow brought her spoonful of cereal to her mouth and didn’t look up from the Duty roster she was reviewing. “Uhh…I assume functional clothing for athletic activity. You have those, try something from the bag of fitness stuff and Tae-Kwon-do wear at the back of your wardrobe.”
“I’m not going. I’m not doing this…what if I couldn’t swim?”
“You can swim.” She replied casually ignoring his anger.
“Yeah! But that’s not the point Will.” He yelled and started listing all of the many reasons that organised sports and athletic pursuits were stupid. She let him rage and once he was done stood.
“You’re going, get dressed, don’t wear anything black in case you overheat, and lose the hood for once. Try shorts and if you have palpitations or feel faint let an adult know and go to sickbay.” She gathered her belongings and put the bowl into the replicator.
“I haven’t had an issue with my heart in three years.” He rolled his entire head at her.
“Well maybe this will be a good thing and you’ll enjoy yourself. Besides you wouldn’t want to be the only teenager in the ship not there…what if Sadee needs someone to be her buddy or something?”
The blue haired teen turned red and muttering under his breath things like “none of your business, stupid ship, idiots” went to get ready.
And so it was that at 7:55 Cai slouched up looking very much uncomfortable in a pair of black shorts and his trade mark purple hoodie. Apparently a sign of defiance. His ear buds still in his ears and a backpack over his shoulder. He didn’t look impressed.
Cai
M’Nalie heard someone coming so she stopped pacing and turned to face the oncoming person. She hoped it would be the Klingon. But the foot steps weren’t really loud enough. When Cai turned the corner she rumbled out “Hello.”, in a friendly tone “Are you taking part in the outing?”, she continued in her deep bass rubling if femi ine tone.

Cai shrugged and looked M’Nalie up and down a second then retreated to the wall and leaned back against it, putting one foot on the wall for support.
“Ah, Ensign. Will you be joining us today?” Echego approached, “and Mister Taylor, do wipe that grimace from your lips. It doesn’t suit you.”
Cai ignored her with another shrug.
Echego had grown accustomed to his defiant constituion; it was as much a part of him as his tongue. Instead of yelling at him, she attacked it with her cantankerous disposition. It was easy to act on vexation, but she found anger was of little consequence with Ogawa’s adolescents. If anything, they thrived on chaos.
“Have either of you seen Sadee Brooks?” She questioned, turning her wirst to catch the time. “Or Adrian Sorel?”
Echego, Teacher
OOC: I’m not positive if Krys is still playing Adrian’s character or not, so I included him anyways. :) –Trin
Ooc: Krys is taking a break for now so not atm. Assume IC they are on a trip away.
M’Nalie flicked an ear and studied the Klingon Woman. “If it is not a problem I seek out all opurtunities to participate in physical challenges, tests of agility, and general excercise. To prove yourself against unknown challenge . There is no better thing. “, she streached then to display her physicality doing a couple of power moves. Then continued, “I have not seen any others yet.”, and she looked Cai over. “I do not understand your body language young male. You are in the presence of females but you would rather hide your features and look at the carpet than display yourself. Perhaps it is because my species differs from yours. But do not even humans normally strut their stuff to attracts interest in themselves?”, and she turned to look at the Klingon woman. “Perhaps one day we can discuss cultures. My clan was isolationist. There is much I would learn. And if you should wish we could compete to compare our martial skills as I hear Klingons are respected warriors.”, she said lowering herself to her knees ankles crossed to sit on her ankles. Which brought her face to face with the others rather than looming over them.

Cai scowled, pierced eyebrow lowering and shook his head. “Uhh yeah no…” he said and went to fiddle with his mini PaDD.
Cai
“I suggest you put that away, Mister Taylor, or it will be destroyed.” It was difficult to determine whether she was indicating water or her own hand, but either way that PaDD was in danger.
“The Klingon people pride ourselves on our sophistication in the art of war,” Echego remarked, “but a Klingon is only respected if they have given reason to be. A cowardly Klingon should not be regarded with reverence as an honourable Klingon must.” There was a trace of humility in her hubris; faint but just bright enough to outshine its competition. “Are you challenging me to a grapple?” She clarified, narrowing her eyes in consideration of M’Nalie.
Echego, Teacher
M’Nalie flicked an ear, “It would be good to have a opponant who would be a challenge. Perhaps grappling as a last test. It would not benefit your pupils to potentially injure one another before they could get their workout. Maybe a warm up jog. Some weights and a swim? I do not know what you planned to do with the kittenss today but it is their day and I would not get in the way of putting some muscle on them.” She rumbled
