“Are you okay?” he said as he looked back at her, she looked like a crapping dog terrified as she stood there in the door. “I promise I don’t bite, and you are the new psych I am expecting are you not?” Jonathan asked her, looking a bit confused at the sheer terror in her face.

Reez, CoP

Ana’s eyes widened even further as she processed Reez’s questions and she blushed mightily.

“Oh, yes, sir, I’m fine,” she responded, her words jumbling slightly as they raced out of her mouth. “Yes, I’m Doctor, uh, Lieutenant Darren, your new psychiatrist,” she added, finally gaining a little more confidence in her tone as she stood somewhat limply just inside the door of Reez’s office.

Lt Darren, Psychiatrist

“Are you in or are you out young lady? If you want to report in its awfully hard to do so in front of my door. I can do it if you want that way but I feel you might not get the same level of service if you just linger in front of a door.” Jonathan said, he had to admit he never seen anyone this nervous before. He knew he had somewhat of a reputation but this seemed beyond normal.

Reez, CoP

Ana obediently stepped inside Reez’s office, making her way to a more appropriate location inside of it. She clutched her hands together in front of her body, waiting somewhat uncomfortably for him to say anything else regarding her reporting in for duty. She didn’t feel like she had anything to add at that particular moment.

Lt Darren, Psychiatrist

Bump.

“Hon… you can talk. Are you mute? Speak a language the translator doesn’t know?” Jon asked as he looked at her with a curious glance. This is weird, even for the Ogawa. “That’s kind of how this work you talk I listen.”

Reez, CoP

Ana tilted her head to the side as she processed what Reez had said so far and her brow furrowed slightly. “I’m… just not sure what you want me to say, Commander. You told me to follow you so I did,” she responded, her voice hesitant but clear.

Lt Darren, Psychiatrist

“You’re new right? My new counselor? Did they change protocol last I checked in Starfleet? I thought you guys always had to report to your department head.” Jonathan said with a bemused look, he wasn’t quite sure what had her so flustered. Even if he assumed wrong why she showed it, it wasn’t a large leap to believe this would be why.
