“It’s fine, he said,” The Lieutenant grumbled to himself as he sat in the general purpose area aboard the roundabout that was taking him to rendezvous with the Ogawa. To that end, or rather the End, specifically the USS End a Longevity-class roundabout, had left STB 157 with the pudgy man in tow some time ago and was preparing to drop out of warp to prepare the transfer.

Lt. Woods had been bouncing between roles within the federation for a number of years now. A specialist in environmental systems, he spent most of his formative years, ensign through junior, under the cruel tutelage of a Fleet Captain in the special programs division of Federation Engineering. He was a rather unremarkable man with a rather dull resume, most of it redacted though the man couldn’t for the life of him figure out why. Was the Old Man really that paranoid of the rest of the fleet? He worked on computer environmental interfaces.

Shortly there after he had been redeployed to Serenity Shipyards and was instrumental on in bringing her back online, despite set backs from a leadership perspective, he was promoted and eventually sent back to Main Engineering before getting orders to go to the famed Owie as just a regular engineer, something much more his speed if all things were considered.

“The at least it isn’t Infinite, out there beyond everything,” he continued to himself before the helm barked back to Woods.

“Alright, preparing to drop out now, sir. We’ll hail the Ogawa and get ready to beam ya over then be on our way,” NE Wei said in his thick Texas drawl. “Pleasure being the taxi,” he finished as he pushed the button opening a hailing frequency.

The transporter Chief was ready and waiting. =/\=USS End, this is USS Ogawa. Energise.=/\=

-NE Transporter Chief

A few seconds later the new engineer beamed aboard the Ogawa, a deep puff of air releasing when he had fully materialized. “Well. Here I am,” he said to no one in particular before looking over to the transporter chief. “Hello. I am Lieutenant Woods. I am supposed to report to a, ah,” he fumbled as he looked down at his PaDD then looked back up at the chief. “Sorry. First day jitters. I am looking for CE Pierce. Do you know if he is on shift or…? Would it be better if I went and checked in with the XO first?”

Lt. Woods, engineering

“Chief’s usually in his office ‘round this time of day. Fair warning; he was a Marine and still acts like it.” Don’t get lost. “Good luck jitters.”

-NE Transporter Chief

“There is no way this chief is as bad as The Old Man,” Scott to himself before thanking the transporter chief and making his way out of transporter room 1 and through the halls, pausing briefly outside of the surgical area to watch some of the activity there before making his way to the turbolift.

“Medical… Mother always wanted me to be a doctor,” he mused to himself before saying in a clear baritone, “Deck 7.”

Seconds later the doors opened and the pudgy engineer walked out into the busy hum of main engineering, looking at all the systems with a childlike awe before finding his way towards the CE’s office. With a tentative finger he touched his pips and then the chime outside the door.

“Enter.” Mark said without looking up from his work. When he finally did acknowledge his guest, he immediately assumed he was the new arrival. “Lt Woods. Welcome aboard the Ogawa. I’m Chief Pierce.” He stood and offered his hand to the new officer.
