Her apparent interest in his response quickly dissolved into a flush of her cheeks at his comment regarding her staring and she quickly looked down at the container of lollipops on her desk. “Your sister must be very proud of you,” she observed. “I wonder why she thinks you need to check in with a psychiatrist on a regular basis.” Her tone indicated that was likely a question.

Lt Darren, Psychiatrist

Cai shrugged, he had left out that he helped people for a price and that the price went up depending on exactly how much help they wanted. “I don’t think she knows or cares to be honest. She’s busy and I’m busy so we don’t exactly have family fun time where we get cuddly and watch holovids.” He sucked the lolly for a bit. “I saw a psychiatrist after my parents were killed, Will and I saw one together when she had issues adjusting to being the responsible adult, I saw one after I accidentally caused an accident that killed two people and injured a third.” He said not bothering with the details, they were in his file after all and she could look them up. “Oh and My school back on earth decided I was a delinquent and should speak to someone because they can’t take a joke.”

“And the joke was…?” Ana asked before she could stop herself. She hadn’t actually spent any time reviewing the teenager’s file, so all of this was new information to her. She made a mental note that she should probably do so as soon as Cai left her office.

Lt Darren, Psychiatrist

Cai shrugged, “I spray painted the answers to the Math final o Er the wall the night before the exam.” He explained calmly. “It wasn’t like it was the only assessment instrument. It was only worth 40%.”

Ana didn’t seem to really react to Cai’s explanation. After a shrug, she looked down at the desk in front of her and then back up at Cai. “That probably wasn’t the wisest joke,” she observed and then shrugged again. “Is there anything else you want to talk about?” She sincerely hoped not, as her tolerance for people and their emotions was rapidly diminishing.

“Was funny though, seeing the teachers scramble to get people away from it and kids sharing the image of it across mini PaDDs while the less on board staff tried to work out if they could still use the same exam.” He smirked as he played again the events in his head which had led to him being dragged off to the head teachers office and expelled.

“Nope. Probably not, you bored already? He asked in response to her question.
