Cai slouched after her, his hands in his pockets. “Lollipop…you’re not serious?” He asked with what sounded like distain in the tone, however just as quickly as it had come the tone was gone, “ Got any green apple flavour?”
Cai
Ana ignored the teenage disdain as they arrived at her office and she pointed at the chair in front of her desk as she made her way around it to her own chair. The office was completely utilitarian and bare; the psychiatrist clearly hadn’t either had a chance to do any decorating or wanted to do so. Silently rifling through the large tub of lollipops, she found a neon green colored one and slid it across the desk to Cai and then took a seat, looking expectantly at him.

Cai slouched to the chair and sat down trying to get comfortable, he leaned back looking utterly relaxed and bored and taking the neon green confectionary item held it up as if admiring the co,our he popped it into his mouth and looked around. “So…Spartan life style by choice or by profession or have you just not got round to unpacking?” He asked around the lolly.
Cai
Ana pulled a few lollipops out of the container and set to lining them up on the desk in front of her, glancing back and forth between her work and the blue-haired ball of angst in front of her. She watched as he looked around her office and then shrugged at his question. “It has everything I need,” she responded, somewhat missing his point. She waited a few minutes, reorganizing the lollipops in front of her in a pattern from lightest color to darkest color, before she looked up at Cai again. “So what do you want to vent about?” she asked, idly.
Lt Darren, Psychiatrist
Cai watched her. “You sure you don’t want me to get Doctor Reeze in here to talk to you…that’s mildly compulsive don’t you think.” He asked and put the lolly back in his mouth. “To be honest I don’t want to vent about anything. But I’m told I need to so here I am, I’m happy to sit here and listen to my music till the hours up.”
Cai
Ana looked back down at the lollipops and then back to Cai, not sure if he was making a joke. “A compulsion is performed because the individual inexplicably feels that they must do the action,” she corrected him and proceeded to reverse her sort order of the lollipops. Finally, she selected one and opened it, sticking it in her own mouth and sucking on it quietly for a moment as she thought. Looking back at Cai, she tapped the purple confection against her lower lip and asked, “what did you do this week, then?”

Cai pondered her. He ate the lolly and sat in silence. After a few minutes he said “I hung around…read some stuff…did a few school projects. Worked on my business venture, pissed off my sister. I think I also had cereal at one point.” He rolled his eyes and tapped the lolly off of his lip ring. “I met the new guy…Jarvis, he plays chess.” He added.
Cai
Ana matched the teen silence for silence as she enjoyed her own treat and waited patiently for him to respond. With utter disinterest, she asked, “what’s your business venture?” As she waited for his response, she made a show of collecting the wrapper from both Cai and her lollipop and depositing them in the replicator for recycling. She ordered herself a mug of chamomile tea while she was there and returned to her desk to study him.

Cai seemed interested in her interest, as though people hadn’t asked him this when the venture was mentioned. He smiled slightly slyly around the lolly in his mouth. “It’s sort of a tutoring thing, via mini PaDD and subspace, I help people with their homework,” he explained. “You gunna stare at me like that for the whole time?” He added with a shake of the blue fringe from his eyes. His hood was still up.
Cai
Her apparent interest in his response quickly dissolved into a flush of her cheeks at his comment regarding her staring and she quickly looked down at the container of lollipops on her desk. “Your sister must be very proud of you,” she observed. “I wonder why she thinks you need to check in with a psychiatrist on a regular basis.” Her tone indicated that was likely a question.

Cai shrugged, he had left out that he helped people for a price and that the price went up depending on exactly how much help they wanted. “I don’t think she knows or cares to be honest. She’s busy and I’m busy so we don’t exactly have family fun time where we get cuddly and watch holovids.” He sucked the lolly for a bit. “I saw a psychiatrist after my parents were killed, Will and I saw one together when she had issues adjusting to being the responsible adult, I saw one after I accidentally caused an accident that killed two people and injured a third.” He said not bothering with the details, they were in his file after all and she could look them up. “Oh and My school back on earth decided I was a delinquent and should speak to someone because they can’t take a joke.”
