As if her day wasn’t hectic enough, Amari had just received word that Sadee never went to her dentist appointment. Not that Amari really blamed her daughter. Dr. Black was an unsettling personality to say the least. Sadee, however, seemed to be testing her mother at every opportunity. Amari really just wanted someone to talk to. She hadn’t had a chance to really socialize. Being new-ish on the ship, most of her time was spent trying to familiarize herself with every aspect of the ship.

Crew evaluations were due and Amari was actually excited to attack the somewhat mundane task. Since this would be her first time evaluating the crew, she knew she needed to seek the advice of the captain. At the captain’s ready room door, she rang the chime.

Willow lay on her back on the sofa in the corner of her office with one arm over her eyes. Her head lolling off the sofa and her short vibrant red hair hanging so the edges touched the floor. Her sock clad feet up in the air and her legs on the back of the sofa in a sort of weird S shape. Her shoes had been kicked somewhere. It was past dinner time but what did it matter since Cai hardly gave her the pleasure of his company at meals anyway.

On her desk the starfleet medical symbol rotated over the words “call in process- Connecting.” It had sat on this screen for thirty minutes or so and would until she logged it off. Only once had Doug answered and her response had been ‘Ferengi Balls’ ....excellent. Now it was back to radio silence.

The door chimed and she made a sort of groan noise. “What....” she muttered without meaning for the computer to take it as an open the door command. It did however letting Brooks See the full spectacle of the woman.

Amari entered and glanced around the office. Her brain didn’t immediately register the shape of the mass on the sofa as the captain. Once it did, she quickly suppressed a laugh. “You look very relaxed. Mind if I join you?”

While the XO and the CO were still getting to know one another, Amari instinctively knew that a certain level of casualness would not be frowned upon. She liked Willow a great deal. Kicking off her shoes, she hopped up beside the CO and immediately inverted her self. “I can already feel the benefits of this position,” she quipped, as she felt her cheeks move toward her forehead.
