Jessica’s characteristic emerald green eyes widened to what felt like the size of saucers as the door slid open to the USS Ogawa’s secondary sickbay. She couldn’t keep a massive grin from sliding over her features as she studied the array of medical technology in front of her. She’d never seen anything like it and she shivered with glee as the excitement of being posted on the medical ship washed over her yet again. Stepping through the door, she stopped a few paces into the facility, taking a slow opportunity to turn in a circle, resisting the urge to bounce happily. Her right hand ran through her hair, winding it in the long, blonde locks and pulling them over her shoulder as she stared at her new home with utter fascination.

From a secluded corner of the sick bay, Dr Jarvis looked up from the scanner he was calibrating. Someone new had entered his domain. Hmmm what have we here he mused as he watched the woman twirl in a circle like a child who had just entered a candy store. Human, mid-twenties and just over five foot tall. He frowned to himself as he observed her and pondered whether there was any depth to her giddy grin of fascination. Only one way to find out…

“Beautiful, isn’t she,” he said in a nasily tone as he creeped from the shadows once her back was to him. “However, you should see it after an incident. Patients littering the biobeds in various states of mortal peril, only mistake away from the final curtain. Doctors rushing around, trying to cheat the seven foot skeliton. It’s quite breathtaking.”
