Cai sighed as the latest song from his current favourite Klingon band blasted his eardrums at a level that would have made most people, not teens anywhere, cringe. He chewed his lip ring and played with the toggled of his hood absently, adjusting it over the electric blue hair which had grown since his arrival on the ogawa. He fell over his right eye now rather than just hanging half way there.

He was waiting for the new counsellor as per his requirement by sister mandate to talk to someone once a week.

“Um, hi, can I help you?” came a tentative voice from a slender officer in a teal-appointed uniform with lieutenant pips, standing awkwardly in front of the teen.

Cai looked up more sensing the approach of another person rather than hearing. A technique only the ear budded music listeners of the universe seemed to master. The leaking noise cut off abruptly and he raised one pierced eyebrow and looked her up and down.

“Well that is the question now isn’t it.” He sighed and stood. “I’m Cai Taylor. I’m supposed to talk to a shrink because my sister thinks I’m a delinquent and need a vent now and then with someone who will help normalise me.” He grinned charmingly at her.
