Mike wasn’t happy himself, he stared at the power map in front of him, muttering to himself. “I’m not seeing an easy way to do this.”

Michael “Mike” Thompson, Engineer

“I don’t care about easy. Can it be done, yes or no?” Mark spun around on his heels. “I do not give a damn if we have to completely disassemble and reassemble this warp core, you got an idea, spit it out.”

-Lt(j.g.) Mark Pierce, CE

By shutting down non-essential systems, they could up their power by 20%. It wouldn’t generate a warp bubble, but they’d have impulse. If someone got navigational control working again.

~Mischief Maker

“Ok. Here’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to kill power to everything we don’t need. Sickbays, lights, life support, navigation, impulse. I’m going to trace the navigational fault stopping us from steering.” =/\=Pierce to bridge. We could restore impulse power by cutting nonessential systems. I’m going to trace the navigational system fault so we can get moving.=/\=

-Lt(j.g.) Mark Pierce, CE

=/\=Chief Pierce, how long will it take you to trace the problem. Can you divert some of that power you are shutting down to helm control and sensors? =/\=

-Lt. Cmdr. Brooks, XO

=/\=It’s a diagnostic on the navigational system, hopefully it won’t take too long. Now, if you’re willing to settle for 3/4 impulse power, I can try to liven up the sensors, helm was never going offline. I believe the plan is to restore control to the bridge nav console. But we’re not getting the warp core back until we get out of here. We can’t generate a warp bubble. I’ll keep working on it, but safe assumption is that we’re impulse only and on low power for a while.=/\= Mark started the diagnostic and his team cut power to nonessential systems.

-Lt(j.g.) Mark Pierce, CE

In addition to multiple relay blown along the command pathways, it seemed part of the computer core was being non-responsive. This particular diagnostic wasn’t able to narrow down the reason other than to isolate a particular section of the core that wasn’t responding.

~Mischief Maker

Mark pointed to two NEs. “Here.” They nodded and walked over. “See all these relays? They blew out when we dropped into this subspace bubble. They all need to be fixed. One of you start on the bridge, the other; start here with the first blown relay. Meet in the middle. Got it?” He stared them down. “Yes sir.” They both said. Then they ran off as ordered.

Ok. What makes part of the computer core just stop responding? What if it’s not properly connected anymore? He checked computer core status. Were all connections secure and in place?

-Lt(j.g.) Mark Pierce, CE

It seemed that there had been a failure in the command processors, and that also seemed to be what was affecting the helm. Whether the relay repairs alone would fix it was not clear at the moment.

~Mischief Maker

“Oh Christ. Can nothing go our way? I’m going to need an assist, nav command processors failed.” Mark stalked off towards the computer processing core.
