“Now.. Wh.. Hold on..” But the sneaky Ensigns had managed to escape uncaught. Which made Tolar Spittin’ Mad. In fact, he shook his cane and stamped.

Pilar had just walked into sickbay “Did we get our new supplies?” She asked seeing the crates scattered on the floor as she carefully opened one of them and saw beanie babies “Ummm Commander....I am not sure these are the supplies we ordered.” She said holding up the stuffed bear.

Which meant he immediately had to pretend he hadn’t thrown a hissy fit when Pilar happened to walk in…

“I can see that, O’Keefe.” He rumbled, antennae twiching and curling. “Despite this mess, it’s good to work with you again.” Here, he gestured to the boxes of bears. “I have a feeling today is going to be one of those special days, don’t you, Commander?”

Pilar took the box “Indeed it is.” She said leaving him to examine to PaDD “I’ll get our supplies reordered and shipped out. I’ll also make sure that we replicate enough supplies to get us through until the new shipment arrives.” Pilar added moving the box of bears into a storage room.

He reexamined the PaDD looking for the name of the person(s) responsible for packing this particular order. He was going to go down and crack someone in the head with his cane about this…

Brad took that moment to walk out of his office. He spotted the boxes, rubbed his eyes, walked back into his office, let the door shut, then waited a moment and walked back out.

“Jesus. I take a minute to catch up on paperwork and the universe confuses us with the Constellation? I’m not getting paid enough to deal with hijinks and shenanigans.”

“That said, if there’s a koala one, I want it,” he said, prying one of the boxes open and rummaging through it.

Pilar turned around and tossed the Chief of Staff a koala “Here you go. I think there are three more in here, possibly four.” She said as she grabbed another box of the toys “Just before you walked in, I will get our supplies reordered again and replicate enough to make sure we can get through until then.”

“Score,” Brad said, catching the toy out of the air. “Thank you, Commander.” The thanks serving double duty, both for finding the koala and for ensuring they had the actual supplies they needed ready to go.

Just then another set of boxes arrived with the same gum chewing NE who appeared to have new gum. “ Uhh like…I’ve got the storage boxes for these here?” He asked holding a PaDD out and popping the gum. She glanced at the assembled medical staff expectantly as the boxes began to be moved into the already cluttered sickbay by other NEs.

Pilar looked at the young ensign “Do you address your department head while chewing gum?” She asked quite bluntly “I doubt you do. You will not pop gum here when you are addressing a superior officer either.” She said as she began putting the stuffed animals in a storage bin and looked at the ensign “Grab some stuffies and help out.” She directed him.

“I’d rather have a look at the order form that brought you here, Ensign,” Brad said, dropping the koala into a coat pocket and striding across the increasingly box-filled room, hand out for a PaDD.

The NE was very young it appeared. She rolled her eyes and looking directly at Zareth blues a large bubble and popped it. She chewed and handed the PaDD over to Brad with a small flutter of her eye lashes and a smile. “Sure…Doc anything you say.”

NE Random

“Oh for the love of God,” Brad muttered under his breath at the NE’s actions, taking the PaDD and looking over the order’s origin information.

The PaDD showed no name and seemed to indicate that the items had been replicated and sent from the ship itself not the Starbase they were currently at. Someone had sent them on purpose.

”… the hell … ” Brad said, off-hand drifting to his commbadge without any thought.

=^= Let me guess Doctor, do you happen to have a random item of apparent requisition that you do not need, did not ask for and apparently received from nowhere?=^= she seemed to be adding inflection to each word as though she were reading the question as a list of charges to someone or someone’s who stood with her at this point in time.

Pilar looked up as the Captain’s voice filled the room “Sir....we have a practical joker in our midst.” She said quietly as she continued going through her file to get the latest requistion order for supplies. Once found, she grabbed two nurses and a medic “Start replicating these items, make sure we have enough for about two weeks, just in case our order mysteriously disappears again or is replaced with chewing gum.”

=/\=Yes, actually, on all three counts. And apparently we’re not the only ones here?=/\= Brad answered the captain.

=^= My apologies Doctor Walker, I can assure you that the culprits for this particular situation have been apprehended. And are being suitably dealt with as we speak, you may be acquiring some more rehabilitation candidates in the form of candy stripers, I’ll be in touch. Taylor out.=^=

“That’s pretty elaborate for a practical joke,” Brad said with a frown. “Not to mention, a major misappropriation of resources, to have all this created and then delivered. I mean, sure we can feed it all back into the replicator for recycling, but why go through all this trouble?”

Pilar came over to Brad “Setting us up for failure if there was a serious incident.” She suggested “We don’t have supplies, people die, we are weaker.”
