Jasper’s eyes fell upon the blue-haired boy and the injured NE he was supporting. Who the injured person was he neither knew or cared, however, he recognised the teen as being the boy who had been studying the chess problems. “Bring her over here, Boy,” he said as he indicated the nearest biobed.Cai scowled. “It’s Cai, not boy. I’d assume you don’t want to be called Man.” He stated. But helped the woman to the nearest bed.
Jasper pondered this notion for a moment. Being called Man would actually be nicer than most of the names that had been thrown his way since arriving on board. While it did not bother him, Dr Marshall’s latest jibe, ‘Jasper the Ripper’, still amused him.
Dr Jarvis then produced a tricorder and began scanning the supposed sprained ankle; he’d be the judge of that. After a few bleeps, he deduced that it was, unfortunately, just that. “I can give you something for the pain and to reduce the swelling,” he then said, procuring a hypospray. After a nod from the NE he administered a single dose.

The NE let out a large sigh of relief as the hypo took effect. She leaned back on her elbows.
Cai meanwhile slouched off to find a chair to sit in and wait as he had been asked. He pushed his hood back up and put his ear buds in.

After he had finished with the NE, Dr Jarvis turned his attention to the blue-haired teen. While the boy had not complained of any ailment, he had no intention of being strung up for not checking him over. Besides, with those earbuds in, he probably wouldn’t notice a Romulan sneaking up behind him to slit his throat, much less a doctor with a tricorder.
Some time had passed since Drake had been called away, and now he reappeared. “OR 1, I’ll meet you there.” He went to scrub up.
Entering the OR, he saw, not a scientist, but a simple case, subdural hematoma. A surgical kit had been prepared on a tray for him. He kicked a stool into position behind him and sat down. “Everyone, since we don’t have the facilities to do this the way we typically like to, we’re going to have to go in and do it ourselves. The squeamish may remove themselves now.”he picked up an exoscalpel in one, red gloved, hand. His other hand snapped his surgical glasses into place.
It was a more precise procedure than the surgeries of old. Advances in tissue regeneration allowed for that, even in these less than ideal circumstances. “Nurse, prepare drainage.” She nodded. Drake turned the scalpel to its highest setting, to cut through tissue and bone. He cut a circle away, just above the hematoma. Taking a surgical tractor in hand, he placed the bone in a tray, to be returned to its proper place in time. Putting down the tractor, he held out his hand. “Drainage. The nurse passed over a small tool. “Cutting in 3,2,1.” He cut away a thin layer of covering above the young man’s brain and began draining blood. “Nurse, scan to make sure it’s all gone”. He nodded at a tricorder. She scanned briefly. “All clear doctor. She showed him the results. “Ok, let’s fix the fracture then close.” Taking different kinds of regenerator, he fixed the damage and sealed everything back up. The NE looked good as new. As was customary for Drake, he watched the patient’s vitals for a moment before saying “We’re done here, turf him to the main floor for recovery. Remember; he’s still concussed.”
Flicking his surgical gloves into a biohazard bin, he commed the science labs. =/\=Doctor Marshall to Science dept. Your injured crewman came through surgery just fine, he should be back to scanning things with the rest of you soon.=/\=

The turbo lift doors opened and Sadee turned to hug her mother before she disembarked.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to go with you, Sadee? You come first, the bridge can wait.”
“You said yourself it was only dislocated. You’re the first officer. There is a crisis. You should be on the bridge.” That was one of the most mature sounding things she had ever said. She didn’t dare mention the pain in her abdomen was getting worse, nor that she was feeling somewhat light-headed.
Amari realized for the first time how close to a grown woman her daughter was becoming and she couldn’t swallow her pride. “Okay. But I want to hear from you as soon as the doctor has seen you. Sadee, do not make me come looking for you, you hear me?”
Sadee smiled as bravely as she could. “I promise. Now go!”
She released her mother and exited the lift. It was a short distance down to the entrance of the secondary sickbay, but it seemed so far away. She was thankful her mother hadn’t noticed the perspiration forming on her brow, nor the shortness of breath she was suddenly experiencing. She made her way slowly and deliberately, to the doors, her vision swimming as they opened.
“Hello?” she called out as she entered. “I think my shoulder is dislocated.” As the ashen faced girl entered, the room started spinning and everything started to grow dim. She was vaguely aware that she was falling… perhaps backward this time.
-Sadee
Cai watched the red haired girl enter and frowned at her colour and the way she was holding herself. Moody teen angst forgotten for the moment he pushed himself up and startes toward her, compelled by the same force that had driven him to play for her when she sang. Her back was to him as she cast about for a Doctor. He reached her as she fell backwards and caught her.
Struggling to find a firm footing he glaned around. Doctor Marshall had gone into surgery…Brad wasnt here…Doctor Scott likely in the other sickbay so that left.
“Doctor Jarvis…help!” He yelled.
Cai
Finishing up with another NE, this one with a minor concussion, Dr Jarvis strode over to the sickbay doors. Tricorder in hand he bent down over the girl, whose face had gone grey and began scanning her.
