Jasper’s eyes fell upon the blue-haired boy and the injured NE he was supporting. Who the injured person was he neither knew or cared, however, he recognised the teen as being the boy who had been studying the chess problems. “Bring her over here, Boy,” he said as he indicated the nearest biobed.

Cai scowled. “It’s Cai, not boy. I’d assume you don’t want to be called Man.” He stated. But helped the woman to the nearest bed.

Dr Jarvis then produced a tricorder and began scanning the supposed sprained ankle; he’d be the judge of that. After a few bleeps, he deduced that it was, unfortunately, just that. “I can give you something for the pain and to reduce the swelling,” he then said, procuring a hypospray. After a nod from the NE he administered a single dose.

The NE let out a large sigh of relief as the hypo took effect. She leaned back on her elbows.

Cai meanwhile slouched off to find a chair to sit in and wait as he had been asked. He pushed his hood back up and put his ear buds in.
