It was a quiet evening and the ship was travelling smoothly at Warp 5. They were on Day 2 of their trip from Starbase 157 to Lorillia, where they were to pick up a high profile virologist (one Doctor Siala Modal) who would be working on the ship for several weeks as the Ogawa went to Karantine to develop some advanced pandemic protocols. These were mostly precautionary, but given the recent viral outbreak the crew dealt with on Carraya, Starfleet Medical was concerned about issues on the Romulan side of the border continuing to creep into Federation space unchecked. On the way, they would detour slightly to return their gastropod friends back to their home on Galorden Core.
The science console broke the quiet workings of the Beta Shift bridge crew. It’s chirp-chirp-chirp, chirp-chirp-chirp, chirp-chirp-chirp alerting whomever was handling science that some significant gravimetric distortions were being detected.
Three seconds later, the ship lurched heavily portside, sending any crew who weren’t holding on to anything, off their feet and out of seats. The lights had flickered and went out briefly until emergency backups kicked in, casting shadows on the bridge in the half-light from what was usual.
OOC: Whomever wants to be up here that would be on bridge duty, jump in! Also, ALL CREW: wherever you are, if you want your character injured in the process, keep it moderately minor. Nothing life threatening. Can’t participate in a sim if you’re unconscious in one of the Sickbays the entire time. ;)

=^= Taylor to Bridge…what’s going on?=^=

Taylor COThe turbolift doors opened to reveal a mass of fur and blue fabric which slowly managed to right itself into the form of the Chief Science officer. “What in the Three Moons was that?!” he asked to no one in particular. Making his way to the science console, he looked over the shoulder of the Science officer seated there and his bushy eyebrows raised in surprise. “Now that is indeed unexpected, I’d say.” and he gently nudged the Ensign and h got up and the CSO took a seat. “Scanning nearby distortions, mapping area of effects. We might want to try and keep our distance until we know what this is…” and he began trying to map the gravimetric fields they had encountered.

=^=Secondary sickbay to the bridge. Has the helmsman taken complete leave of his senses?=^=

Dr J. Jarvis M.D
Initial scans of the region showed that space was suddenly not what one would expect. It existed in a state of flux and they were clearly in subspace. Furthermore, their high-res sensors which normally extend five lightyears, stopped short, mapping an ovoid shape roughly 2 lightyears long, 1 lightyear wide and 1 lightyear ‘high’. The edges of the this pocket in subspace were thick with subspace distortions, graviton shears and spatial sinkholes, with the Ogawa not too far from an edge. In the middle of the pocket, things seemed calmer, even if everything in this realm was likely unpredictable.
The ensign at helm raised her brows and shot a look into the ether. “Helm is nonresponsive,” she said, tapping at the console with no effect.

Willow entered the bridge and looked around. Nodding her head at the NE on duty she took her chair. “Have Commander Brookes called to the bridge.” She said to the NE at comma and hit her badge as the call went out.
=^= Taylor to sickbay, Doctor Jarvis please refrain from using the ship comms unless you are asked to report or have a sensible query in future. Please prepare sickbay for any wounded and report back in 5 minutes of any injuries on board.=^=
=^= Taylor to Engineering, have we an ETA on power being restored.=^=
=/\=Captain, this… isn’t just a power failure. Based on what I can tell, we’re in some sort of subspace pocket. This thing is huge, constantly in flux, and messing with my engines.=/\= There was a brief pause. =/\=We can restore primary power. Still working on a time estimate. But sir, everything is thrown off by this thing. Sensor range was affected… differently in every direction. This is bigger than a blackout.=/\=

She looked at the science station. “Report please lieutenant.”

Tressex looked up and said “Captain, we appear to have, for lack of a better word, ‘fallen’ into a subspace pocket. Or perhaps pulled would be more appropriate. Regardless. We are now in subspace. A pocket of subspace measuring approximately 2 light years long, 1 light year wide and 1 light year in height. We are near one edge, and I would recommend that we move towards the center as soon as we are able. There are multiple distortions and things best left alone if possible. The center of this ‘pocket’ is a bit more stable. But we shouldn’t dally too long. The entire area seems to exist in a state of flux.” and he turned back to the console and tried to figure out they ended up inside the subspace pocket.
