It was a quiet evening and the ship was travelling smoothly at Warp 5. They were on Day 2 of their trip from Starbase 157 to Lorillia, where they were to pick up a high profile virologist (one Doctor Siala Modal) who would be working on the ship for several weeks as the Ogawa went to Karantine to develop some advanced pandemic protocols. These were mostly precautionary, but given the recent viral outbreak the crew dealt with on Carraya, Starfleet Medical was concerned about issues on the Romulan side of the border continuing to creep into Federation space unchecked.

On the way, they would detour slightly to return their gastropod friends back to their home on Galorden Core.

The science console broke the quiet workings of the Beta Shift bridge crew. It’s chirp-chirp-chirp, chirp-chirp-chirp, chirp-chirp-chirp alerting whomever was handling science that some significant gravimetric distortions were being detected.

Three seconds later, the ship lurched heavily portside, sending any crew who weren’t holding on to anything, off their feet and out of seats. The lights had flickered and went out briefly until emergency backups kicked in, casting shadows on the bridge in the half-light from what was usual.

OOC: Whomever wants to be up here that would be on bridge duty, jump in! Also, ALL CREW: wherever you are, if you want your character injured in the process, keep it moderately minor. Nothing life threatening. Can’t participate in a sim if you’re unconscious in one of the Sickbays the entire time. ;)
