In just over five minutes, T’Pris entered the area with science tricorder in hand. “Ensign, you called for a consult?” She asked as she paused and activated her tricorder. All she could see was the Engineer kneeling before an open panel. But she could see the faint trail on the floor and noted that it did not look like any ship board fluid just pooling on the floor. It rather looked like a trail that had moved into the panel rather then out of it.

He looked back at her. “I did. And the trail used to be the most interesting part.” He motioned for her to come to where she could see the creature.

The creature didn’t move, at least to the visible eyes, but T’Pris would most definitely pick up an air of despair that had become more prominent the closer she had come to the area.

T’Pris activated her science tricorder to take readings of the trail and the creature as she came forward. “This creature is sentient to some degree.” She said as she looked over Pierce’s shoulder at it. “I can feel despair emanating from it.” She frowned as she attempted to reach out mentally to the creature while keeping her own mental shields up in case it reacted instinctively and lashed out. She sent a feeling of calm toward it while at the same time a questioning sense to see if it could relay to her what was wrong.

OOC: I’ll be LOA until Monday due to wedding, hope it won’t slow down things too much.

The creature didn’t respond to T’Pris’ mental touch. But the tricorder was reading an exceedingly low metabolic rate that may or may not be normal. But considering the feelings it seemed to be able to emit, it was likely that it had a much higher metabolism under normal circumstances.

Meanwhile, Pierce would notice that the organic trail went of into the next panel as well.
