After meeting some resistance, he removed the panel to reveal the relay cluster. He looked at the scene in front of him. In the marines he’d gotten used to fixing up damaged vehicles. Sometimes a motor would just draw in too much power. He thought he’d know a little something from the look of the situation. He set in to make his repairs. -Ensign Mark Pierce, Engineer

He could see the burnt out relay and one near it that was fizzling (and likely causing the odd fluctuations). Underneath both of them was some sort of transparent substance glistening along the bottom of the section. The trail continued along and disappeared into the panel to his left.

Since power connections had been rerouted around this relay, Mark figured it was safe to just kill the power to the whole relay. He waited for the fizzling to stop, and he took the tricorder out of his repair kit and scanned the transparent mystery substance.

OOC: I’m assuming repair kits have tricorders in them. For up close diagnostics.

OOC: Yes, they have an engineering tricorder inside.

The tricorder wasn’t able to tell too much detail about the substance, but it was most definitely organic. The trail disappeared behind the next panel and it was clear by the markings that there had been movement that pulled the substance along the bottom.

Mark lifted the next panel to follow the trail. =/\=Pierce to Science. Can you send someone who knows something about biology up to my location? Bring a sample cup.=/\= He knew there was something living running around down there at some point. =/\=Pierce to Jang’xi I’ve found some sort of biological trail. I’ve called down to science for someone a little more versed in these things, carrying a tricorder on the right settings.=/\=

Behind the panel and nestled between the support for the panel and the wall was a green tinged creature with grey scales. It almost resembled a turtle shell (if turtles had little spikes, but there was no shell per say, just thick scales that covered a soft body. It was round in shape at the moment but it was hard to tell much more about i from just a glance.

In just over five minutes, T’Pris entered the area with science tricorder in hand. “Ensign, you called for a consult?” She asked as she paused and activated her tricorder. All she could see was the Engineer kneeling before an open panel. But she could see the faint trail on the floor and noted that it did not look like any ship board fluid just pooling on the floor. It rather looked like a trail that had moved into the panel rather then out of it.

He looked back at her. “I did. And the trail used to be the most interesting part.” He motioned for her to come to where she could see the creature.
