Melaia chewed on the side of her cheek as she looked at the info being sent through to her PADD but looked up to address . “It’s… a grey area,” Reez replied. “Technically, I’m still on an indefinite Leave, and not retired. I do intend to return to duty one day, maybe. Or maybe civilian life will win out and I will fully resign my commission. I don’t mind the Missus, because going about the ship waving my earned pips is rather unnecessary and probably counter-productive, but I will admit that it feels… weird after so many years of being addressed by rank of position. Now I am functionally neither, if technically still ranked Captain. I don’t really know that there’s another option.”

Glancing at the PADD, Reez frowned. “Bad weather incoming soon. We better get to it before we get caught,” she said, tucking the PADD into her shoulder bag and pulling out a tricorder while they waited for the supplies.

Zoi watched as the survival kit materialized near them as promised. The security officer went to kneel down at the site. She checked her requested kit over quickly, noting all that was there and then shouldered the pack. She handed Reez her kit as she stood back up, looking at the sky and frowning. She adjusted the pack so that it was comfortable and evenly balanced. Bad weather could do a lot of damage if one wasn’t prepared. She nodded to Mel. “Yes let’s get going. I’m up for whatever pace you lead Mel.”

Surveying the equipment sent down, Mel pulled out a small container and clipped it to the outside for easy access. Shifting things for easy carrying, she opened her tricorder and began to walk. She aimed for an area sort of behind the camp was could still be considered in the perimeter but slightly west. She avoided going right under the trees. “Careful as you step, there’s rock under there structurally, but it’ll be mud in places on the surface.” Regardless of the humidity building, Mel was grateful to be outside.
