After months of sitting at Starbase 157, she had finally received orders. Her orders were to go to the USS Ogawa a medical vessel that is a space ambulance. However, she was expecting to be on board before the ship heads out of Starbase 157.

Her shuttle had departed from Starbase 157 and thought maybe the captain is not expecting someone that is a Romulan. she thought to herself there for a moment. Before she knew it she took a little small tour from her shuttlecraft of the outside of the ship. The Hull. Something she wasn’t quite familiar with. Even the fact that it’s her first ever assignment.

Shortly after her little “tour” around the ship, the shuttle had then landed in the main shuttlebay. Lieutenant N’Arir hadn’t seen such a beautiful ship in her life. As of course it is her first. She then saw the deck officer. “Lieutenant N’Arir Head Nurse reporting for duty. I believe Captain Elliot is expecting me.” She said to the Deck Officer.

The deck officer had looked up from his pad and then looked back down to look her up. “Head Nurse. Lieutenant N’Arir. Assignment: USS Ogawa. Welcome aboard Lieutenant.” He said to her. “Thank you Chief. Now where may I find the captain?” She asked him. “You can find her either the bridge or her Ready Room. Turbolift 1 is out those doors and to the right.” He replied. She nodded and replied back. “Thank you Chief. ” She said as she walked out of the shuttle bay and out into the corridor.

Minutes after going into the corridor, she had finally reached to the turbolift that will take her up to the bridge and to the captains ready room. She then ordered the computer. “Deck 1.” She said to the computer. Seconds later after saying that, the turbolift doors had slid shut. Moments later, the turbolift had taken off and took her up to deck 1 the bridge. The turbolift had then took a halt. She then saw the doors slide open and saw everyone working on the bridge. She then went to the doors of the ready room and rang the chime and stood there patiently.

“Enter.” Came the call from the inside, and the doors slid apart to reveal an office in transition. There were a few boxes in the middle of the room and other trinkets and paraphernalia set on available surfaces just waiting for permanent homes. Standing behind the desk with a photo generator in her hands was the new CO. ” Captain Cypress Elliot, how may I help you today?” Bright, blue eyes looked up from her task at the female Romulan officer who entered the room.

She entered. “Hello Captain, I am Lieutenant N’Arir. Your Head Nurse. Reporting in to you before I go on official duty.” She replied. “I do apologize for the completely unannounced appointment, ma’am.” She added.

Elliot eyed the Romulan, studying her carefully. She had not been eager to have the female on board. She would be the first of her species the Captain would deal with on her own crew. “No need to apologize. You are only one of the new officers that have joined the Ogawa since star base 157.”

Cy set the photo generator on the desk and walked around the furniture to lean against its front edge. “So, tell me, Lt. What made you join Star Fleet? There aren’t many of your kind in the Fleet.”

She sat down and thought about what she said. “Well, Captain. If I may say, and me being honest, being part of Starfleet has been an inspiration to my people. They had thought that it would be best to bring both of our people together more and make it so that my race is open to be part of Starfleet. Learning everything that your people have always been is something I have always been inspired by.” She started to explain.

Captain Elliot continued to watch the female, who was undeniably a real looker. For the briefest of seconds she wondered if there would be trouble with the male officers who tried to win favor with the Romulan. N’Arir’s answer wasn’t specific enough for what Cypress was really looking for, but it was all she had given. On their first meeting Cy couldn’t interrogate the head nurse about her motives. She would have to watch and pay attention–stay in touch with the Chief in medical and keep abreast of the Romulan’s actions and motivations.

“Have you worked on a ship before?”

She looked at Captain Elliot. “No ma’am. This is my first posting. I am happy to be here. I am also happy to be your head nurse. I won’t let you down.” She said.

OOC: If you are a LT, the Ogawa wouldn’t be your first posting. You would have to have been serving for a while, probably at least 2 years in order to make that rank. You could have done it on Earth, at the Academy, or working at a hospital on the planet…but you wouldn’t be right out of the Academy and be a LT.

OOC: Does that mean she served at Star Fleet Command for a couple of years?

The Captain nodded. “Life on a star ship is different than on a planet for a few very important reasons. The most important one is that you are confined to the ship. You can’t just hop in a shuttle and go to the beach for the weekend. There are holodecks, but it isn’t quite the same. Also, whatever the Ogawa has to offer, its all there is until we return to a station or a port to resupply or repair. It’s just something to keep in mind.” Cypress stood straight again. “Thank you for stopping by. Dr Walker has been advised of your arrival so you should check in with him today. Do you have any questions for me?”

OOC: Yes. I just gotta update the whole bio again. Full with a service record and everything for ya.

IC: She looked at her she stood there with certainty. “No captain. Ill make sure to do exactly that.” She replied.

“Thank you. You are dismissed.” Cypress watched the Romulan cross the room and leave her office. She wondered if Hawthorne was aware of N’Arir’s arrival. No time like the present to find out. =/\=Cmdr Hawthorne to the Ready Room please, Elliot out.=/\=
