Stepping through the doors of one of the Ogawa’s Sickbay, Zack took in the bustle of the place. It was a medical ship afterall, and so blue uniforms were everywhere.

He tried to find someone who wasn’t busy, which was difficult, but in the end he managed to find a nurse making notes. “Excuse me,” he said, as politely as he could. “Sorry to bother you. I’m Ensign Alexander. I just arrived and wondered if I might be able to be squeezed in somewhere for my physical.” He smiled. “I’m kinda eager to get started.”

Pilar looked up “Ensign, please have a seat. I apologize for the delay. I’m the head nurse Pilar. ” She said as she led him to one of the empty bio beds “Is there anything in your file that I need to be aware of before we begin?” She asked.

Head Nurse

“Nothing that I know, of …” he glanced at her pips. “Commander.” He finished, respectably. “Thank you.”

He took a seat on the bio bed. “My mother was a nurse. She always used to tell me to keep the nursing staff happy, because it’s them who actually do all the work in Sickbay.” He smiled. “So, as the humans say, I promise to be a ‘good sailor’.”

Zack had shared a room with a Bajoran during his early days as a cadet, and though you can’t judge a species by one person, the Betazoid had liked her immediately. She was quite fiery, and due to his empathic abilities, being around her was kind of fun, feeling her strong emotional energy.

Pilar smiled “This is very true.” She said “You upset the nurses things tend to get tense and ugly.” She said “So firey?” She asked with a slight smile “You know that can always backfire on you too. ” She said “And you can get burned.” she continued with her scans “How did that relationship end?”

Head Nurse

The scans showed nothing sinister, but there appeared to be a intermittent bursts of activity in his paracortex, with that particular par of the brain releasing larger short bursts of increased psilosynine. They were not regular, but varied in intensity, and outwardly the Betazoid didn’t show any signs of discomfort.

He did however, look uncomfortable with the last question. “”Oh, well, you know,” he scratched his wavy blonde hair as she scanned him. “Family. Bit of murky water there for everyone I think.” He deflected instead. “Have you served on the Ogawa long, Commander?”
