OOC: I’ll be LOAing for a bit over a week but wanted to get a thread started before I left where people can swing by and pester the CSO while he struggles with catching up on basic admin. Feel free to throw in a reply and I’ll get back to you when I return.

Achilleas sat at his desk and looked at the proverbial mountain of paperwork that needed his reading, rubber stamping, rejections, compromising, and passing up the chain. The ship was in a right state recently and that unfortunately meant the majority of experiments were either interrupted or outright destroyed. That also included a lot of the equipment and materials needed to start those experiments up again.

With a heavy sigh he picked up the first random PaDD and began reading a request to replenish the horticulturists with a relatively rare Denebian purple rose specimen. The experiment and subsequent disruption destroyed the last one and a replacement was needed to see if propagating it was possible to some random human colony.

CSO Petrakos

The chime sounded at his door.

Cori was finally on full-duty, but she had been floating about the department and liaising with the medical department. For the moment she was happy to just be around everything and give herself time to figure out what she wanted to do with her new life, but she was also aware that it was time to perhaps take the next step.

“Come on in.”Achilleas called out from behind his desk. He placed the PaDD he was working on down and was glad for an interruption.

CSO Petrakos

Cori stepped in, PADD in hand and gave him a small smile. “Heya, Chief. How’re you feeling?”

She held out the PADD. “Biosci department report. I offered to being it over for Lt. Chen since I had to come and see you anyway.”

Achilleas returned the smile but with a hint of tiredness to it. He took the PaDD from Corinne then motioned to a seat.

“I’m doing alright thanks. Just…” He motioned to the rest of the PaDDs on his desk. “So much stuff to catch up on.”

“I can imagine,” Cori said, slipping into a chair.

He chuckled wryly as he thought of Starfleet’s recruitment slogan of seeing the galaxy. Galaxy filled with paperwork. “So what can I help you with Lieutenant?”

CSO Petrakos

“So, I’ve been floating about the sub-departments for a little while now that I’m cleared for duty, but I still don’t really quite have a place to be. Bioscience is definitely an interest and with the medical knowledge I picked up, I can liaise between the departments, but I still don’t have a direction yet.” Cori drew in a deep breath and let it out. “I need a direction so I don’t get, well, bored.”

Achilleas leaned back in his chair and studied Corinne for a moment. “A science department on a medical ship is going to be boring a lot of the time. When the ship needs us is when it gets very exciting and often not in a good way.” He grinned a bit at that. “Now I can help point you in a direction but the biggest question you need to answer is what interests you? Any old random direction is just as likely to bore you if you’ve got no interest in the subject.”
