Ensign Anghelescu frowned. “What do you need to treat her? Can we do so here?” Kehinde gestured with her head towards the ceiling of the lift. “I can go up and get extra supplies if you need, or if the transporter is still working we can have one of the sickbays beam it in? But either way we should let the bridge know the situation. The might be able to help, and we’re supposed to evacuate this area.” The pilot looked around knowing there was no way they could all get out just now.

“A portable dermal regenerator and ask any doctor for anti inflammatories best for a concussion.” Solal said, knowing telling a non medical person the name of the drug would be largely pointless. “Be quick. If Commander Sinclair thinks we need to move, things may be unstable.” He looked at Haven, “I won’t leave until you’re safe.”

Kehinde nodded.

=^= “Solal to Bridge. Commander Haven is stuck in turbolift B between decks near deck 8a. She has a concussion and cannot be safely moved. Be aware of our situation and advise.” =^=

~ Solal

=/\= Bridge to Solal. Engineers en route to your location. They will coordinate extraction with SAR teams. Try to keep the Commander still until help arrives. =/\=

Sinclair, XO

“Should I go? Or Stay?” the junior helmsperson said, frowning at her own confusion.

~Mischief Maker

A few minutes later a head popped through the open door into the turboshaft above them.

“Hello? Is anyone down there?”

DC Team Gamma

“Doctor Solal, Commander Haven, and Ensign Kehinde, present.” Solal called up. “The Commander is injured. Concussion.”

~ Solal

A light appeared coming down the shaft, moving back and forth like someone was climbing down. Still up above another voice called out.

“Happy to hear your voice Doctor. Is the Commander able to move? Is anyone else injured?”

There was a solid thump as someone stepped onto the top of the lift. NE Cog peered over the lip of the open emergency hatch. “Someone call for a rescue?”

DC Team Gamma

Kehinde looked up from where she was standing on the side of the lift out of the way and smiled in relief. “Ensign Anghelescu here. Dr. Solal responded to our emergency call and came in the same way as you. I’ve injured my right arm but am otherwise mobile, but Commander Haven’s injury is serious. We’ve established that moving her isn’t ideal and I was about to go get emergency supplies. Are transporters an option still? We figured not because of the power fluctuations, but maybe if we used transporter enhancers?” the pilot said.

~Mischief Maker

“Commander Haven has a concussion. It would be reasonable for her to walk, assisted, but certainly not ascend a lift shaft.” Solal added. “Either a way to move the lift or a transporter is a must. In absense of those, yes, emergency medical supplies for a moderate to severe concussion.”

~ Solal

Zoi frowned at everyone though it was hard to focus entirely on any one person except the doctor when he moved his face close to hers. “Surely it isn’t that bad. I am a tough Chief of Security. Are you sure I cannot just tough it out to get out of here. Is the shaft really that high?”

She grimaced as another wave of nausea flowed through her. She hated being the source of such attention and she felt guilty so many were having to come to her rescue when the ship was in such dire straits. “I feel like I am putting you all out. Isn’t there someone more in need than a concussion?”

Haven, CoS

The helmswoman gave Zoi a soft smile. “We all have to evacuate, Commander. We certainly aren’t going to leave you here.”

~Mischief Maker

“We aren’t going to leave anyone behind,” Cog said from where he leaned over the edge of the hatch. “I wouldn’t trust the transporters unless as a last option. With the way powers been fluctuating, it’s almost asking for something to go wrong. Moving the lift, could be done, but it’s going to be a toss up between what equipment we have, safety, and speed.”

He paused for a second as he thought about that. “You sure we couldn’t lift the Commander out? No need for her to climb up the turboshaft, we could rig up something to lift her up to the next deck.”

DC Team Gamma

“Could do,” Kehinde said. “But isn’t Deck 7 also on evac order?” She gently waved her right arm. “I’m only so helpful too. Hurt my arm in the fall.”

~Mischief Maker

“Is there a clear path from Deck 7 to somewhere safer?” Solal asked. “I could risk a lift if it meant she would be safe.” He looked down at his patient, “You are the Chief of Security and head injuries are dangerous and can suddenly worsen. You are my top priority.”

Kehinde didn’t know that answer so loked up to Koria.

“Well,” Cog said scratching his head. “We kind of planned on getting you out of the lift and onto solid deck, and then figuring out the next steps from there.”

“See?” She gestured with one hand to Kehinde, though she was careful not to move her head. “Hurt arm. Way more important than a wee tiny concussion.” Zoi slowly closed her eyes, feeling the tiredness seep into her bones. Gods above she was tired. It had been such a long shift plus her paperwork after. They had a new transfer coming in and she had needed to review his file. If she just let herself rest here, they could keep arguing about what to do and she could sleep… yes sleep was good.

Haven, CoS

The pilot crouched down and gently shook the COS. “Hey, none of that now. You need to stay awake.”

~Mischief Maker

“Commander Haven. Commander Haven. I need you awake.” Solal’s voice joined the pilot. There was an ever so light note of concern. “No sleeping just yet. Let’s treat that head first.”

~ Solal

Two men trying to get her attention? She almost smiled at that. The shaking didn’t feel great and she wanted to say something to the Ensign but she was so groggy. Still Solal was most insistent and she could tell that even the stoic Vulcan was concerned. Unfortunately her eyes didn’t seem to want to open easily. Zoi frowned and concentrated, taking a moment to really register her body’s signals of distress. It took several long moments for the internal battle to wage and for her willpower to win but for how long… who knew. Finally bright blue eyes fluttered open, she gazed at the face of Lt. Segal. “I’m afraid I might be in worse shape than I surmised Doctor.” She said, the grogginess evident in her softer tone and slightly slurred speech.

The pilot debating making the suggestion because she wasn’t sure how doable it was. “What if we went straight up the turbolift shaft to Deck 5 using a pulley system? Could we rig a sling situation and attach it above the door on Deck 5? Use some antigrav generators to help?” She held up her good hand. “I’m not an engineer though. I don’t know how practical that is.”

~Mischief Maker

“Easy enough. As long as everyone is good to go straight up, we can make that happen.”

Cog turned and looked back up the lift. “Toss the bag down. Head up to Deck 5 and secure the rescue tether. I’ll get the crew down here prepped.”

There was a series of affirmations before there was another loud thud on the top of the lift. After some jingling and rustling of fabric Cog’s head showed up at the hatch again. “Whose arms are good enough to help me out here?

DC Team Gamma

It was getting harder to focus on the Doctor and Zoi realized she needed a hit of adrenaline to keep herself awake. Lifting up both hands to her face, she gave it a solid smack on both cheeks at the same time. The force was enough to harm, but enough to sting and cause the blood flow to temporarily increase and a small amount of adrenaline to dump into her system. Her eyes blinked wildly for a moment but then refocused on Solal, clearer than they had been before.

Haven, CoS

“We are all good up here Chief,” someone called from higher up the turboshaft. After some more rustling and jingling, Cog started to lower a rescue harness down into the turbolift.

“Heads up! Whoever is going first hop in, and we can pull you up.”
